A second lay day was called at the Volcom Fiji Pro with insufficient waves on offer once again at the primary venue of Cloudbreak.

Tournament organisers were forced into making the decision due to the small surf on offer, although they remain confident to get back underway towards the end of the week.

“As projected, there’s not a lot on offer this morning and we’ve called competition off for the day,” Matt Wilson, Volcom Fiji Pro event director, said.

“Swell models still look very promising for Friday and Saturday and we’ll be back tomorrow morning to further assess the situation.”

There are just two round two heats to complete - Bede Durbidge against Adam Melling and Kai Otton versus Raoni Monteiro - before the third round commences.
