Snowboard news - Home delight as Benjamin Karl and Daniela Ulbing capture gold in Bad Gastein
Local heroes Benjamin Karl and Daniela Ulbing took gold at the World Cup parallel slalom team event in Bad Gastein.
The Austrian pair were cheered on by adoring fans and gave the home crowd even more to celebrate following Claudia Riegler's home victory in the women's event.
The riders repeated their success of 2017 with a victory in the final over Italian pair Aaron March and Nadya Ochner, steering home just over a second (1.07s) ahead of their rivals.
The Swiss pairing of Dario Caviezel and Olympic gold medallist in Sochi, Patrizia Kummer, completed the podium as they rode to victory over this year's men's winner Stefan Baumeister and fellow German Ramona Theresia Hofmeister in the bronze medal race.
