Noerl clinches snowboard cross gold on World Cup debut
Martin Noerl landed gold on his World Cup debut as the snowboard cross World Cup season got underway in Cervinia.

Current Olympic champion Valutier was eliminated in the quarter-finals and Spanish riders Regino Hernández – bronze medallist in the last Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang – and his compatriot and former World Cup champion Lucas Eguibar both fell in the round of 16.
The was no place for Pyeongchang silver-medallist Jarryd Hughes on the podium either as the Australian finished down in 19th.
