Anna Gasser made a triumphant return to a course that has brought her success in the past after starting the World Cup season with victory in Milan.

Despite failing with her first jump, the Austrian clocked a total 160.25 over her two following runs in the first Women's Big Air competition of the season, after winning on the same course last year.

Katie Ormerod of Great Britain took silver with a score of 143.25, while Swiss boarder Sina Candrian scooped the maiden bronze of the World Cup season.

Gasser is a double Big Air medallist in the Winter X Games and clinched the World Championship in Sierra Nevada in March.

"It was really more exciting than I wanted to do, I'm so relieved, the first contest of the season is something special and you have almost a bit more pressure," said 26-year-old Gasser.

"In the final I did not land my parade jump, the cap-double, the first time and then the last two jumps have to sit - and luckily they did, thank God for the victory."
