But his break ends at just 31 and now it's Trump's turn to build something. Nerves are understandably playing a part as we come to the business end of the match.
Mistake from Trump as he goes into the pack gives Maguire a big chance to build a high-scoring break here.
But what's this? He's hit the brown so hard it's gone off the table! Maguire concedes the frame and we're all square at 2-2. Remarkable.
What a shot from Maguire which is deserving of winning any frame. He cuts a green perfectly from distance to the bottom-left pocket and lands beautifully in position for the brown.
Maguire is playing a very considered frame here, and if he can knock this tricky red in that is hugging the cushion, then the frame could be his. But it cannons off the jaws and now the impetus is back with Trump.
This is tense now with possibly only one frame left in it. Trump leads 40-6 but it's a safety exchange that's currently taking place - no risks being taken at this stage.
An early miss on the brown from Maguire has opened the door for Trump. The 21-year-old is on 39 now but the cue ball is in awkward position, hugging a red in the centre of the table.

Maguire negotiates his way through the bunches, and his break now stands at 96. Wonderful play from the Scot.
Impressive break from Maguire of 47 and counting, responding well to losing the last frame. Two bunches of three reds may be a tough nut to crack here though.
Well played Judd Trump, the young man really is a talent. He capitalises on Maguire's mistake, knocking in the necessary balls before a miss on the blue. All square.
But that's a routine miss on the black from Maguire and Trump should make it one frame apiece here. He leads 66-25.
Once again, it's a tight frame and Maguire is back at the table with a deficit to make up.
Frame one to Maguire. Trump will feel hard done by after he unfortunately underhit a red to end his break, and paid the price for it.
Key shot for Maguire. He's on the final red which is tight along the bottom cushion and if he pots it, he really should take the frame. And it's in!
Competitive first frame, this. Maguire made an OK start with a break of 25, before Trump came in and hit an impressive 45, but a careless miss on the black has seen him retake his seat.
We're underway in the clash involving Maguire and Trump. The former is at the table currently on a break of 18.
