Gareth Bale's agent has admitted that he is disappointed that his client has been dropped by Real Madrid but hopes he stays at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Welshman has been linked with a return to the Premier League this summer and has been left out of the 19-man squad to face Real Sociedad, the second time he failed to make the cut for Zinedine Zidane in as many matches.

Jonathan Barnett says that Bale must accept the decision of the French coach but voiced his hope that a move away from the Spanish capital was not necessary.

"It's a shame Bale is not playing," he told Goal.

"Should he be playing more after being left out of the last two squad lists? I can only hope that he keeps playing for Real Madrid. But that's up to Mr. Zidane.

"Zidane makes the decision. Is this [Bale being dropped] a message ahead of the next transfer market? You'd have to ask the coach."

Bale became the most expensive player in the history of the game when he moved to Real Madrid for £90 million in 2013.
