Arsenal are keen on signing Monaco's Thomas Lemar whilst Jurgen Klopp is relaxed over Philippe Coutinho's situation despite interest from Barcelona. It's Thursday's Papers.

Arsenal keen on Lemar

A report from The Mirror on Wednesday evening says that Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar is one of Arsenal's top targets for the summer. The Gunners are confident of landing Sead Kolasinac from Schalke and would like Southampton's Virgil van Dijk but accept that champions-elect Chelsea are leading that particular race.

Paper Round's view: Arsene Wenger being linked to the latest hot property in France is about as predictable as it can get. Of course Lemar would be an exciting addition for Arsenal but is there any truth in this? It's hard to say.

Klopp relaxed over Coutinho situation

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he is relaxed over the situation with Philippe Coutinho, despite long-standing interest from La Liga giants Barcelona. Klopp joked that Coutinho has a release clause of £400 million and said that there are no plans for the Brazilian to be sold.

Paper Round's view: Look, Klopp saying this, and even Coutinho signing a new deal and saying he wants to win trophies at Liverpool, are all a little meaningless. Players have gone through this charade and then left. Liverpool fans won't fully relax about this until the transfer window slams shut.

Mahrez to lead £100m Leicester exodus

The exclusive on the back of The Express reads that Leicester City could be facing an exodus of a number of players. Riyad Mahrez reportedly leads the way with a £35m bid expected from PSG (the Mirror report that Marseille are interested) whilst Kasper Schmeichel, Ahmed Musa, Islam Slimani and Leonardo Ulloa are all reportedly on the way out. Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal are mentioned as other possible destinations for Mahrez while Schmeichel is linked to City and Liverpool with Slimani supposedly a target for West Ham.

Paper Round's view: This would be a terrific way for Craig Shakespeare to be welcomed into the job permanently, wouldn't it? Actually it may not be that bad. If Leicester can raise the sum that the Express are quoting then it could allow Shakespeare to build his own squad.

West Ham want Batshuayi and Zabaleta

West Ham are keen on signing Pablo Zabaleta (according to The Sun) and Michy Batshuayi (according to The Mirror) to go with the above interest in Slimani. The Sun report that Zabaleta will be offered a two-year contract worth £100,000 a week whilst the Mirror say that West Ham will have to buy Batshuayi as Chelsea aren't interested in loaning him out. The Hammers also reportedly retain an interest in Yaya Toure.

Paper Round's view: From all accounts it sounds as if it could be a pretty busy summer at West Ham and they badly need it. These signings make a lot of sense as well, Batshuayi is clearly a decent player he just needs to be playing permanently whilst Zabaleta could bring the type of leadership that is required in this squad.
