The final whistle goes, and Chelsea go into the international break four points clear at the top of the table! Arsenal played well, but were beaten by two outstanding goals.


Alex has gone down and stayed down. The Brazilian defender is helped off the pitch, and will play no further part.

Chelsea substitution: Sturridge replaces Mikel.


Mikel limps awya from a challenge. Daniel Sturridge is about to come on.


Essien is free int he box and tries to lift it over Fabianski... the keeper saves it at the expense of a corner!


Alex's first goal of the season has surely sealed this match for the BLues now.


GOAL!! Drogba leaves it for Alex and the Brazilian unleashes an absolute rocket with the outside of his boot that swerve round the wall and into the top corner! Fabianski had not chance!


Koscielny is booked for a cynical block on anelka. The free-kick is central and well within Drogba territory...


Chelsea substitution: Yuri Zhirkov replaces Ramires.


The corner is headed clear and Chelsea break! Anelka plays a ball into the path of Ramires who is one-on-one with the keeper... but the flag is up for offside! So close to a second for Chelsea.


Ferreira heads a cross behind for a corner with Emmanuel-Thomas lurking at the far post.


Arsenal substitution: Jay Emmanuel-Thomas replaces Wilshere.


Wilshere plays the free-kick out wide to Sagna. The play is switched and Chamakh heads the cross from the left wide! Great chance!


Paulo Ferreira gets the game's first booking for a foul on Rosicky.


Fabianski has to stay calm to clear the ball with Drogba bearing down upon him.


Squillaci concedes a free-kick off Drogba. Terry and Alex come up for the free-kick from the left. Arsenal eventually clear their lines.


Anelka holds off Clichy as he charges forward and fires an effort right at Fabianski. Arsenal are fortunate the rebound doesn't fall to Drogba on the follow-up.


Drogba forces a save from Fabianski, but the flag was up against him already.


Rosicky skips inside and drills a long-range effort at goal, but it's an easy stop for Cech.

Nasri tees up song to strike from distance... over the bar.


Chamakh nods down Nasri's corner but Terry clears.

Anelka chips a lovely weighted ball into the path of Ashley COle who fires into the far bottom corner... but the flag was already up for offside!


Neat passing around the final third by Arsenal but Song's cross is headed away.


Didier Drogba has joined clubmate Florent Malouda and Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov as the joint top scorer in this season's Premier League. They all have six goals. (Infostrada)


It's Chelsea's turn to have a decent spell of attacking possession now. Arsene Wenger may be contemplating changes, but with Tomas Rosicky and Carlos Vela on the bench his choices are limited.


Essien feeds Anelka out wide, but the Frenchman's poor cross floats over the far upright.


Terry does well to challenge Wilshere and brings the ball forward. He plays it into Drogba's path but the striker is penalised for tugging on Squillaci's arm as he drives forward.


Nasri's delivery is headed clear and Clichy fires his strike from distnace over the bar.


Arshavin draws the foul by the corner flag. Plenty of red shirts wait for the free-kick.


Anelka gets the better of Koscielny and takes it round Fabianski... he hits the sidenetting! The Polish keeper did well to send him wide, but Anelka should have rolled it into the empty net from there.


Nasri fires a dangerous low ball across the six-yard area but neither Chamakh nor Arshavin take the gamble and go for it.


Good pressure from Arsenal but the momentum is disrupted by Diaby's foul throw.


Cech parries a strike away but it breaks loose in the box. Chamakh lines up the strike but Ramires denies him with a great tackle inside the box!


Drogba wins a corner when the home fans wanted a penalty from Koscielny's challenge. No chance. Again Fabianski plucks the set piece out of the air confidently.


Arsenal have now not kept a clean sheet in their last 11 Premier League away matches, since a goalless draw at Aston Villa on January 27. (Infostrada)


Drogba heads the eventual cross clear. Arsenal are seeing more of the ball at the moment. Diaby's shot takes a deflection and loops up into the air before dropping wide. Another corner headed clear by Drogba.


Arshavin picks out Diaby, whose return pass is deflected beind by Alex. Another Arsenal corner.


The set piece is headed away at the near post and the offside flag is up as the second ball comes in.


Fabianski claims the corner confidently. Ramires does well to track Arshavin's run but concedes a corner.


Malouda scampers down the wing and wins a corner off Sagna.


Ramires knocks Wilshere over with a shoulder barge and is harshly penalised for the foul. Arsenal take the free-kick quickly and get a corner. Chamakh sends his header wide from the set piece.


Drogba will take the free-kick. Sent into the mixer but headed away by Song.


Nasri gives the ball away to Drogba. The Ivorian comes forward and Song uses all his strength to haul him down. The midfielder was almost hanging off him there!


The Gunners have only been able to win two of their last 17 matches against Chelsea. (Opta)


Cech comes off his line to slide in at the feet of Chamakh... Arsenal want a penalty but Mike Dean saw Cech get the vital touch to the ball.


Malouda goes down clutching his ankle after Sagna catches his foot and trips him. No foul says the referee. The French pair gave a cosy interview together pre-match, but the close friends are going at it out on the pitch.


Chelsea kick off to get the second half underway!


Chelsea take the corner short and the whistle blows before the cross can come in. Arsenal are unfortunate to be behind after an entertaining first half, but they have once again been bitten by the Drog.


Malouda wins a corner for Chelsea. This must be the final act of the half. Oh, no... Chelsea win another.


Clichy sends a long ball up to Chamakh but cech was always favourite for it.


We're into the second of the two added on minutes indicated by the fourth official, but there will be a little more time following Diaby's treatment. The Arsenal man is now up on his feet, but limps off the field for more treatment.


Now Diaby is down writhing in pain after a collision with Essien. This time it looks serious though. The midfielder has only just returned to action following an ankle injury.


Sagna is down in pain after he was caught late by Malouda. The Chelsea midfielder is lucky to escape without a booking there.


If Chelsea keep a clean sheet today they will equal their all-time top flight club record of seven home matches without conceding – set under Jose Mourinho from December 2004 to March 2005.


Strong tackle from Alex and Chelsea come again. Anelka roves forward but drills his low effort right at Fabianski.


Chamakh tries to bring down Arshavin's ball into the box, what his first touch lets him down.


That's Drogba's sixth goal of the season and his 13th against Arsenal in his last 11 games against them!


GOAL!! Drogba wins a free-kick off Squillaci with a smart turn. it's taen quickly and Ramires feeds Cole out wide and his low ball is turned in by Dorgba with an outrageous backheel on the turn that goes in off the near post! What a goal!


Chelsea's fans are just reminding the visiting Arsenal supporters who the champions are. Since the Gunners last won a trophy, Chelsea have won three titles, three FA Cups and a League Cup.

Arshavin hares forward through the middle but fires his shot wide. Plenty of chances, but still goalless at Stamford Bridge. Surely it won't stay this way?


Arsenal repel the corner, but here come Chelsea again. Shouts for handball in the Arsenal box against Koscielny, but Malouda is penalised for a foul afterwards. The ball hit Koscielny on the chest anyway.


Drogba leaves Clichy sprawled on the deck as he latches on to Ramires's ball down the right channel. He turns towards goal and fires a strike for the near post that Fabianski blocks for a corner!


Chelsea have won their last five Premier League London derby matches at Stamford Bridge, scoring at least twice in each match. Their only defeat in the last 28 home derby matches was 2-1 to Arsenal in 2008. (Infostrada)


Nasri sells Ramires the dummy and lines up a left-footed strike from the edge of the box... it flies wide! Decent effort from the in-form Frenchman, who almost rescued a point against West Brom last weekend single-handedly.


Clichy has to go the long way round to escape from the clutches of Drogba and clear the ball.

Arshavin digs out a rasping shot from outside the box that requires a good save from Cech. The Gunners keep the pressure on fromt he corner but can't fashion another chance.


Koscielny almost lets the ball slip out of his control for a corner, but recovers well to send it to Fabianski. The Frenchman looks to be struggling under pressure from Drogba.

Arshavin shows great determination to win the ball but then gives it straight to Essien. The move leads to a Chelsea corner... repelled by Diaby for a throw.


Chamakh gets a tame header to Nasri's corner and Cech catches comfortably. Clichy does well to head a cross back to Fabianski.

The corner is an easy catch for Cech. Clichy heads Cole's cross into the air and Fabianski messes up his punch clear under pressure from Malouda. Fortunately for Arsenal, Clichy is there to hack clear.


Song finds Diaby from the byline. Diaby passes to Nasri, who has a shot from the edge of the box blocked for a corner.


Alex can't get his effort on goal, but he has won another corner. The second delivery comes in and Essien glances his header wide of the far post!


Song tries to pick out Nasri's run but the ball runs all the way to Cech. Drogba's presence is enough to force Koscielny into conceding a corner.

Clichy's cross is blocked and Chelsea break. Drogba feeds Anelka down the channel and the Frenchman steers a return square pass that Sagna desperately hacks into the stand. Arsenal defend the corner but Chelsea retain possession.


Wilshere tries to slip a ball into Chamkakh's path, but Terry reads it well and clears.


Wilshere's poor touch gives Chelsea a throw-in. Drogba pushes his way past Koscielny and Sagna does well to get in front of Malouda. Goal kick to Arsenal.


Wilshere holdsoff his man, turns and finds Sagna. The ball comes in for Chamakh whose control lets him down.


It's really tight in midfield but Mikel and Malouda help Chelsea play their way out of trouble. That extra muscle could make all the difference.


Sagna has gone down hurt after colliding in the air with Drogba. He's back up soon enough.


Arshavin cuts in from the left and fires in a strike that Cech parries. Confident start from the Gunners.

Drogba shows great strength to shrug off Sagna and turn for goal. He gets to the edge of the box and has his shot blocked. chelsea come again and Song brings down Ramires about 25 yards from goal. Drogba will fancy this...


Squillaci flicks the corner on and Koscielny heads over from inside the six-yard box! What a start from Arsenal, but they should be ahead after that chance.


Sagna swings in curling ball and chamakh dives in front of Alex to send a diving header wide of the far post! The defender got a slight touch, corner to Arsenal.

Chelsea can open up a four-point gap at the top of the league with a win here following Man United drew at Sunderland on Saturday and Man City won over Newcastle earlier today. The Gunners can, however, reduce the gap to one point and move up to second if they can grab a win at the Bridge.


Arsenal are without captain Cesc Fabregas (hamstring) while England U21 full-back Kieran Gibbs (calf) is also sidelined. Lukasz Fabianski will again deputise for Manuel Almunia (elbow) after impressing in the Champions League win at Partizan Belgrade. Midfielder Abou Diaby returns to the squad after an ankle problem. Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles), Nicklas Bendtner (groin), Aaron Ramsey (leg), Theo Walcott and Robin van Persie (both ankle) are still absent.


Chelsea have named the same team that lost 1-0 to Manchester City last weekend. Midfielder Frank Lampard will miss out with a groin problem. Didier Drogba is back after being suspended for the midweek Champions League game against Marseille. Chelsea are also without injured striker Salomon Kalou (thigh) and midfielder Yossi Benayoun (calf).
