The first half was very competitive, but that was a routine win for Barcelona in the end. They have restored their five-point lead at the top of the Liga table and this season is starting to look like a procession once more. Coutinho and Suarez were the standout performers.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Barcelona 3-0 Eibar
Suarez has been exceptional for Barcelona this evening. He has been in great form of late and scored to keep his streak going. Replacing him will be so dificult when the time comes.
After this, Barcelona will play Levante in the second leg of their Copa del Rey last 16 tie. They are actually behind in that tie, so the likes of Messi and Suarez might be called upon again.
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
Have to be honest, this game is nodding off a bit in the closing minutes. Barcelona have slowed their game right down and they look happy just to see this match out and move on.
Eibar still believe that they can at least get back into this match and give Barcelona something to think abiout, but they are lacking creativity in the final third of the pitch.
- OffSergi EnrichSD Eibar
- OnMarc CardonaSD Eibar
And Eibar make their third and final change, with Cardona coming off the bench for the away team.
Dembele is giving Barcelona an outlet down the wing at this late stage of the match. With Eibar seeing plenty of the ball, that is easing some of the pressure on top of the Catalans.
Messi couldn't control! Dembele races down the right side at pace, leaving behind the Eibar defenders. He squares the pass for Messi, but he couldn't quite control the ball and the chance is gone.
- OffSergi RobertoFC Barcelona
- OnNélson SemedoFC Barcelona
On comes Semedo for the final 10 minutes. He's one of the players on the brink of being a first team figure.
Eibar are actually seeing lots of the ball. The changes have disrupted Barcelona's flow and the away side are now on top, although they are struggling to create scoring chances.
This has turned into quite a strange match. The scoreline is only 3-0, so Eibar still have a chance of getting back into this game. But the vibe from both teams is that it's done and dusted.
- OffGonzalo EscalanteSD Eibar
- OnKike GarcíaSD Eibar
Another change for Eibar with Garcia coming on for the away side.
Ter Stegen save! That could have been a lifeline for Eibar to get back into the match. Enrich got in front of his marker to head towards goal, but the Barca keeper makes the save at his near post.
- OffArthurFC Barcelona
- OnOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
Indeed, the change is mae and Dembele comes on for Arthur, who gets a standing ovation.
It looks like Barcelona are going to make another change here. Valverde is clearly wary of the need to rotate with so many fixtures on the horizon. Dembele might be about to come on.
- Yellow cardGerard PiquéFC Barcelona
Foolish slide tackle by Pique on De Blasis and the Barcelona centre back enters the book.
Valverde was critcised last season for his failure to rotate his Barcelona squad which ultimately resulted in their Champions League exit. He's trying to rotate a bit more this term.
Ordinarily, that would be a peculiar change from Valverde, but it's worth keeping in mind that Barcelona have games in the Copa del Rey coming up. And then it will be Champions League time again.
- OffSergio BusquetsFC Barcelona
- OnArturo VidalFC Barcelona
Valverde makes a change and Vidal comes on for Busquets.
- OffMarc CucurellaSD Eibar
- OnPablo De BlasisSD Eibar
A change for Eibar. De Blasis comes on for the away side, but is it too late for him to make an impression?
A win here would put Barcelona five points clear at the top of La Liga table. Their advantage was cut to two points by Atletico Madrid's win over Levante earlier in the day.
It seems likely that this will be a long 30 minutes for Eibar. They will be thinking back to thumpings they have suffered against Barcelona in years gone by. This could get ugly as well.
- GoalLuis SuárezFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 3 (59 mins - Luis Suarez) Eibar 0. There's the third goal and that should be the points wrapped up for Barcelona. Everyone expected Suarez to pick out a teammate when he was played through down the right channel, but with the outside of his boot he finds the back of the net. Sensational.
All of a sudden Barcelona have cranked things up and now it looks like they could blow away Eibar. They are playing with pace and intelligence and this could get ugly for the visitors.
Messi should score! It's not often that the Barcelona number 10 misses a chance like that. Coutinho played him clean through, but one-on-one Messi puts his shot straight at Riesgo.
Suarez denied! That could have been a third for Barcelona. Suarez's header was a decent one, but Riesgo makes the save to deny the Barca striker. Good stop by the goalkeeper.
The supporters inside Camp Nou have their phones out to take a picture of the momet Messi celebrated his landmark 400th La Liga goal. What a moment for the GOAT. Exceptional.
- GoalLionel MessiFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 2 (53 mins - Lionel Messi) Eibar 0. There's the landmark goal! That's Barcelona's second goal of the night, and it's Messi's 400th La Liga goal of his career. It was Coutinho and Suarez and the Argentinian who linked up and Messi applied the low finish into the bottom corner.
Barcelona have to be better in this second half. In truth, they are slightly fortunate to be ahead. Eibar have given a good account of themselves so far and created opportunities.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Barcelona have a 1-0 lead over Eibar in this Liga fixture.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Barcelona 1-0 Eibar. Suarez's goal is the difference between the two teams at the break, but Eibar have played well. They are not out of this yet. Barca can't be complacent.
- Yellow cardLuis SuárezFC Barcelona
Now Suarez is shown a yellow card. That wasn't needed from the Barcelona striker. Dissent from Suarez.
Was that a penalty? It was almost a repeat of the opening goal, but the roles were reversed. Suarez played through Coutinho, Coutinho goes down... no spot kick awarded, though.
- Yellow cardSergi EnrichSD Eibar
Enrich is shown the first yellow card of the match and the Eibar striker isn't happy about that.
Eibar won a freekick right on the edge of the ball on the left side after a foul by Roberto. But the away side couldn't make the most of the opportunity, with the clearance made at the near post.
That's a bit wild! The ball fell back to Orellana from a corner kick, but he was leaning back and was off balance. The strike was never really troubling Ter Stegen from that distance.
I keep going on about it, but this is fairly impressive stuff from Eibar. They are zipping the passes around the midfield and pegging Barcelona back in their box. At Camp Nou!
Enrich wants a foul for a challenge on him by Lenglet, and he might have had a case. Nevertheless, Barcelona play on and are moving the ball into the final third. Going for a second.
Once again, Alba is in behind the Eibar defence down the left side, but he just couldn't control the scooped pass over the top and the away side recover to win the ball back.
Eibar's response to going behind has been quite impressive. They have continued with their game plan and they have been competitive, to say the least. Tough game for Barca so far.
Roberto header! You don't often see that from Roberto. He gets on the end of a cross to the back post, but puts his header across goal and wide. That was a decent opportunity.
Header wide! That's probably the closest Eibar have come in this match so far. Enrich got on the end of the cross into the box, but the ball flashes just past the post. Not far away.
This game isn't beyond Eibar. Of course, Barcelona have the sort of individual quality that can open up a match in a matter of seconds, but the away side are holding their own.
What is interesting about this game so far is that Eibar are actually holding their own in the centre of the pitch. Barcelona's opportunities are coming from being a bit more direct.
Shot blocked! Just for a moment it looked like space had opened up for Escalante on the edge of the Barcelona box, but Lenglet threw himself at the shot to make the block.
Coutinho has, generally, been quite quiet early on in this match, but he was nippy when the time came to play through Suarez for the opening goal. That's what the Brazilian offers.
That's what Barcelona can do to you with their world class quality in the final third. Eibar had played quite well early on in this match, but they now find themselves behind after that goal.
- GoalLuis SuárezFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 (19 mins - Luis Suarez) Eibar 0. There's the opener and it has gone the way of Barcelona! Coutinho and Suarez played a lovely one-two as they surged towards goal, with the former playing through the latter. Suarez made no mistake in finding the far corner of the net.
Eibar will be quite pleased with how they have played in the opening 20 minutes of this match. They have been more ambitious in their play than many probably expected of them.
Messi opportunity! Well, that was strange. Cucurella gave the ball straight to Messi inside his own half. That allowed him to run at the Eibar defence, but the challenge was made.
Suarez is already cutting a frustrated figure for Barcelona up front. He's not seen much of the ball in the opening 15 minutes of this match. This is common. Suarez often starts slowly.
The pressing game from Eibar in the opening exchanges of this match has been pretty intense. They are closing down Barcelona whenever they have the ball as quickly as possible.
Alba was in behind! Messi and Alba show that telepathic understanding that we've seen for the past few years, with the former playing in the latter. But Alba's cross into the middle is defended.
Not too far away! Decent effort from Pique, who had his back to goal when the freekick delivery was played in by Messi. His looping header bounces wide of the far post. Pretty close.
We're only a matter of minutes into this match, but it feels like Eibar have settled relatively well into the contest and are doing a decent job of keeping hold of possession.
That was difficult for Enrich, but it showed how Eibar can cause Barcelona problems. The cross for the striker was above his head and he couldn't control it with the ball that high.
Eibar have yet to take a single point against Barcelona in La Liga. Ever. Of course, they have only played each other eight times in the league, but still. The omens aren't great.
Eibar are down in 13th place in the La Liga table at the moment. However, the table is so tight that one or two wins can be the difference between a crisis and a European challenge.
Messi is out on the right side of the pitch for the early stages of this match. The Barcelona number 10 curls a cross into the Eibar box, but it's too close to the goalkeeper.
Barcelona are strong favourites to win this one, but they did suffer a defeat to Levante during the week. However, that was a Copa Del Rey match and Messi and Suarez were rested.
The selection of Coutinho ahead of Dembele for this match today was something of a surprise. Dembele has been impressive for Barcelona in recent weeks and months.
- 1st Half
The match is under way at Camp Nou! It's Barcelona against Eibar in La Liga.
Okay, here we go. About to get started at Camp Nou. Kick off is just seconds away.
This match marks the end of the first half of the season in La Liga. After this, it's the return fixtures.
Big night for Coutinho, as already mentioned. He needs to show that he can fit into this Barcelona team.
Not long until kick off at Camp Nou. Barcelona need to start dropping some points to prevent this from being another procession at the top of La Liga.
The last time Eibar came to Camp Nou they suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat. Will they fare better this around? Can Barcelona inflict the same sort of damage on the Basque side?
Atletico Madrid beat Levante earlier today to cut Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga. However, the Catalans still have a two-point advantage and they can make it five points again tonight.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the match to let me know your thoughts. Is there any way that Eibar can cause an upset at Camp Nou? Tweet me!
Coutinho starts! He's been a peripheral figure in recent weeks for Barcelona, but Coutinho has been handed a start this evening. The Brazilian starts alongside Messi and Suarez.
