And that's the final whistle! A chastening evening for Portsmouth, and a glorious one for Southampton who got it spot on tonight and didn't buckle at Fratton Park.

Southampton are rampant and ruthless, and want more. All smiles on their bench between the subs. South coast derby history being made.
GOAL! Portsmouth 0 Southampton 4! Redmond, off the bench, picks up the ball in midfield after Southampton play out from the back, drives through unchallenged to the edge of the box and smashes one past MacGillivray's right inside the left-hand post.
Southampton also make a change, Long for the surely man of the match Ings.
Close comes off for McCrorie for Pompey.
Ten minutes left. Only pride to play for here for Portsmouth. Southampton have been unwavering.
GOAL! Cedric dashes in to pick up a loose ball from Ings down the left, and lashes it in past MacGillivray. Game over.
Cedric lashes the ball across the Portsmouth goal from the right, but there's no one there to meet it for Southampton.
Southampton deal with the corner, Pompey recover the ball but Saints clear again.
Another chance for Curtis! Curtis swipes at the ball inside the area on the turn, but it's deflected. Corner to Portsmouth.
Redmond comes on for Southampton, for Obafemi.
Nathan Redmond is warming up for the Saints. Southampton are comfortable and looking for a third to wrap this tie up.
Yoshida is rattled and takes a swipe at a Portsmouth player. Bertrand, bizarrely, is then booked - which seems like mistaken identity.
Marquis clatters Yoshida following through with an elbow, albeit into a midriff. Yoshida immediately has a nibble back after the free-kick. Southampton won't mind the distractions.
Unclear what Hawkins's injury was, but he certainly wasn't fit to continue for Pompey and trudged off. Meanwhile, Haunstrup is in the wars and on the sideline getting treatment - but he returns. Not ideal for Kenny Jackett.
Hawkins, dejected, goes off for Portsmouth, Downing comes on.
Corner to Pompey, and a great chance, but it evades all the rising attackers and goes out to safety. Portsmouth pushing for a goal back.
Chance for Curtis! Blocked at the near post by Southampton.
Meanwhile, Pitman also goes into the book for Pompey.
Hawkins is booked for Portsmouth for a late challenge.
Portsmouth need to find something here, but Saints are so threatening on the break.
Great chance for Curtis for Pompey inside the Saints box, but Curtis can't sort his feet and takes one too many touches. Saints clear.

Portsmouth get us underway. It's still bucketing it down at Fratton Park.
The teams are back out and we're ready to go again.
Ings's touch for his first was delicious, and Obafemi's assist wasn't bad either.
And that's half-time. Blimey, Southampton have done a number on Pompey with their 4-3-3 and counter-attacks in the first 45. Ralph Hasenhuettl will be delighted with that, as will Danny Ings with his first-half brace.

GOAL! Ings has two!
Wonderful counter from Southampton and wonderful ball from Obafemi putting Ings through who slots past a helpless MacGillivray. Crikey.
Southampton defend the corner, relatively comfortably, and look to counter. However, the ball breaks to Marquis and he blazes one from distance wide of the Southampton goal.
Five minutes before half-time, free-kick to Pompey in a good area from the left. A clipped ball in goes for a corner.
Saints are very dangerous on the break. Pompey can't cope at the moment and are misplacing passes in midfield.
Ward-Prowse, driving through midfield for Southmapton, hits one beautifully from range which skids up in front of MacGillivray but the 'keeper pushes it away. Saints can't recover the ball for another chance on goal.
Fantastic cross from Cedric overlapping down the right for Southampton but Burgess clears the danger.
Danny Ings likes a derby goal.
Burgess, eventually, has a great chance from the corner at the back post, but scuffs his effort wide.
Portsmouth will wonder how they're one nil down after such a good opening 20 mins. But they have a corner after another attack down Southampton's right.
Superb stop from MacGillivray and block from Hawkins for Portsmouth after another Saints attack. The games changed in a flash and Pompey are reeling here.
GOAL! But here comes Danny Ings! Fabulous first touch on the edge of the area picking up a loose ball from a Saints counter, and creates the space to side-foot the ball past a defender and goalkeeper MacGillivray from the edge of the box.
Scramble in the Southampton box from a Pompey corner! And, somehow, McCarthy smothers the ball with two Portsmouth players trying to force the ball past him on the line.
Ralph Hasenhuettl, on the touchline under a cap, blows out his cheeks.
7% of this game has been played in the Portsmouth final third thus far. Southampton are having to weather more than just the rain.
Marquis shapes for another effort from the left edge of the area for Pompey, but it's high and wide.
Great chance for Portsmouth but just over the bar! It's all Pompey.
Late challenge from Romeu gets himself in the book. The referee has let a bit go so far but Romeu overstepped the mark there.
Corner to Pompey, cleared by Southampton. Pompey have pushed up and are putting Saints under a lot of early pressure.
Fantastic effort from Marquis! Shaves the bottom of the right-hand post with a strike from outside the box. Portsmouth haven't let Saints settle.
It’s chucking it down at Fratton Park. Ward-Prowse gets involved early on but escapes punishment for a late kick on his marker.
MIght take a while to settle down, this, but Southampton are attempting to take the sting out of it with some steady possession.

Kenny Jackett is hoping the crowd will spur on his side who are in a difficult period right now. What a win would do for him and Portsmouth.

Southampton may be favourites on paper, but their players haven't experienced a south coast derby at Fratton Park.
The first and only other meeting in the League Cup was settled by two goals from Southampton's James Beattie in 2003. More recently, in the FA Cup, Portsmouth thumped Saints 4-1 at St. Mary’s with two late goals en route to the final in 2010.
As usual between the seesawing Hampshire pair, their last meeting being the best part of a decade ago only intensifies tonight’s clash – as does the match being decided on the night.
1-1 at Fratton Park and 2-2 at St. Mary’s in the 2011/12 Championship season, under the lights this evening there will be no shared points nor replay.
Some housekeeping: League One Portsmouth beat Birmingham City and QPR in the first two rounds of the Carabao Cup, while Premier League Southampton won away at Fulham to set up this mouthwatering third-round tie.
Both sides lost at the weekend in their respective league divisions where minds were perhaps on tonight’s game. Portsmouth’s Ellis Harrison was sent off for two bookable offences and is consequently suspended this evening.
Two changes for Portsmouth, and six for Southampton. Captain Tom Naylor shakes off a knock from the weekend and starts for Portsmouth. Ings, Obafemi and Adams all start for Southampton in an attacking line-up.
