Football news - Nani: Former Manchester United winger joins Orlando City on free transfer
Orlando City have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United winger Nani on a free transfer from Sporting Lisbon.
The Portuguese forward arrives in the MLS as Orlando's designated player having signed a three-year contract.
Nani made 28 appearances this season for Sporting in his third spell at the club, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.
But the 32-year-old has accepted a new challenge ahead of the start of the 2019 MLS campaign.
Luiz Muzzi, executive vice-president of Soccer Operations at Orlando City, told the club's official website: "This is an exciting day for our organization. Nani brings tremendous experience to our roster.
"He's a dynamic winger with quality abilities to move and cross the ball, impact games and lead the offensive play."

Nani joined United from Sporting in 2007, winning the Champions League the following year as well as four Premier League titles.
A loan spell back at Sporting in 2014 was followed by a permanent move to Fenerbahce. Nani, who is capped 112 times by his country, has also had spells with Valencia and Lazio.
Orlando kick off their new MLS season on March 3 at home to New York City FC.
