That second half was a disaster for Scotland. They were in the match at half time, but what we witnessed after that was a calamitous collapse from Clarke's men. Russia bullied them in the second half and that was epitomised by the performance of Dzyuba, who finished with a brace.

  • End of 2nd Half
93'

FULL TIME: Russia 4-0 Scotland

92'

Clarke looks like a man who doesn't have many answers on the touchline. Hands in pockets, he will be livid with how his team has performed in the second 45 minutes.

91'

Just in case anyone is waiting for news from the game in Amsterdam, Netherlands have scored two late goals. They lead 2-1. Nonetheless, that display from O'Neill's team has been everything this Scotland performance hasn't been.

90'

There will be three minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.

89'

Dzyuba turned in the sort of performance that Scotland need from a centre forward. He is a targetman, but also brings others into play and can contribute outside the box as well.

88'

Scotland are just waiting for the final whistle now. They has been an embarrassment of a second half display. They are lacking in so many areas despite having players of real talent.

85'

Russia are now finding it so easy to get shots away inside the Scotland penalty box. So different from the first half when Scotland actually did a decent job of keeping things tight.

  • Aleksandr Golovin
GoalAleksandr GolovinRussiaGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Russia 4 (84 mins - Aleksandr Golovin) Scotland 0. There's the fourth goal and that had been coming. It was a lovely one-two from Golovin, he then showed great foot inside the box to take the touch and squeeze the finish in off the inside of the far post. Scotland look a sorry outfit here. Dreadful second half.

83'

Russia are now showing some renewed vigour to grab a fourth and really put the final nail into the Scotland coffin. The away side have long since given up on this match. Really poor night.

82'

Scotland face San Marino on Sunday. Anything less than a convincing win will see questions being asked of Clarke and his players. This hasn't been a good start to his reign.

PICTURE: Dzyuba has been the main man for Russia.

Russia's forward Artem Dzyuba celebrates after scoring a goal during the Euro 2020 football qualification match between Russia and Scotland at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow on October 10, 2019
79'

Of course, this group was already over for Scotland as they arrived in Moscow for this match. It's now about building momentum for the play-off in March. But this isn't momentum.

78'
77'

In other news, Northern Ireland have taken the lead against Netherlands in Amsterdam. Keep in mind that O'Neill was originally the man the Scottish FA wanted before McLeish...

76'

The intensity and pace has dropped since Russia scored their third goal. They know that they have the points wrapped. They have done what was asked of them before kick off.

75'

This has been a dismal second half display by Scotland. They managed to keep things tight in the opening 45 minutes, but they have completely collapsed since the restart. Yikes.

74'

Russia are enjoying themselves now.

73'

That third goal was embarrassing for both Devlin and Mulgrew. They were truly bullied by Dzyuba. Neither player is good enough to play centre back at this level of the international game.

72'

This has been a real problem for Scotland of late. It was the same in the home match against Russia at Hampden Park - once they concede one goal, the floodgates tend to open.

  • Artem Dzyuba
GoalArtem DzyubaRussiaGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Russia 3 (70 mins - Artem Dzyuba) Scotland 0. It's a third for Russia and this is becoming humiliating for Scotland. Fernandes knocked a header back into the danger area from the byline and Dzyuba was far too strong for Mulgrew and Devlin, poking the ball into the back of the net.

Clarke makes his second change of the night as Christie comes on for Fraser.

69'

This result will make it four straight defeats for Scotland. That will be their worst run of form since 2004. Clarke hasn't made the impact that so many expected of him. The slide has continued.

  • Denis Cheryshev

As if things weren't already bad enough for Scotland, Russia have just thrown on Cheryshev.

67'
66'

Another chance for Dzyuba! That's probably the best chance the big Russian striker has had this evening, but he sends his shot wide of the far post when he probably should have scored.

65'

Scotland have fallen out of this game in the last five minutes or so. It's all Russia at the moment. There has been no response from the away side to falling behind. They look resigned.

64'

Off the crossbar! What an effort that was from Dzyuba! Golovin's cross flashed across the face of goal. Dzyuba recovered it, but whipped a strike off the woodwork. Marshall was beaten. Almost another stunner.

63'
62'

The irony of those two Russian goals is that they came during Scotland's best period of the match. They were just beginning to show more intent in moving the ball forward. Ouch.

61'

Scotland are at risk of completely falling apart. Russia have finally got their wheels up and they are flying. This has very quickly become a very difficult evening for the Scots in Moscow.

  • Magomed Ozdoev
GoalMagomed OzdoevRussiaGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Russia 2 (60 mins - Magomed Ozdoev) Scotland 0. Two quick goals for Russia and they have a grip of this match now! You always got the feeling that if Russia were to find the way through this Scotland defence it was going to involve Dzyuba in some way. He also scored in the win at Hampden Park.

  • Artem Dzyuba
GoalArtem DzyubaRussiaGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Russia 1 (57 mins - Artem Dzyuba) Scotland 0. There's the breakthrough and it's Russia who has made it! 57'

Palmer is being a bit narrow on the right side of the Scottish defence. Of course, this isn't a position he plays very often. He is a square peg in a round hole for the Scots tonight.

56'

The introduction of Shankland seems to have balanced this Scotland team a bit better. They are doing a much better job in getting bodies around the Dundee United striker up top.

55'

This is a bit better from Scotland. For perhaps the first time in the game they are keeping possession on the edge of the Russian penalty area. They are probing for a way through.

54'

PICTURE: It's been a bit of a battle in Moscow so far.

Russia's midfielder Alexey Ionov, Scotland's midfielder Robert Snodgrass and Russia's midfielder Magomed Ozdoev vie for the ball during the Euro 2020 football qualification match between Russia and Scotland at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow
53'

Fraser got up high on the right side and was given to get the cross into the box. Snodgrass got up highest, but his flick on found nobody in the area and the chance disappears.

52'

Clarke listened!

51'

That was a waste! Mulgrew gave the ball away cheaply in the centre of the pitch trying to find Fleck, but Golovin lashes his effort high and wide of the target when he should have tested Marshall.

50'

A critic and a cynic would surely say that Scotland are playing for a draw here, but this is where they are as a national team right now. It's about very small steps under new manager Clarke.

49'

Russia dominated the majority of the first half, but struggled to create much in front of goal. Scotland have done a good job of filling the gaps at the back. Well organised in defence.

48'

This is a massive show of faith in Shankland from Clarke. He is currently playing for Dundee United in the Scottish Championship, but has bagged a hatful of goals already this season.

The second half is under way! It's still goalless between Russia and Scotland in this Euro 2020 qualifier.

-

What did you make of the first half at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow? Is it only a matter of time before Russia find the opener? Does Clarke need to make changes to his side? Tweet me!

  • End of 1st Half
48'

HALF TIME: Russia 0-0 Scotland. This hasn't been a vintage encounter, but Clarke will be pleased at how his team have managed to keep Russia out. They have been pretty solid at the back.

47'
46'

Mulgrew reads the step-over from Dzyuba and that stops a dangerous attack from Russia in stoppage time of this first half. Scotland have been relatively solid at the back until now.

45'

There will be three minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the first half.

44'

Half time is going to come at a good time for Scotland here. Russia are well on top right now. They are turning the screw on Clarke's side. The counter attack isn't really working that well.

  • John Fleck
Yellow cardJohn FleckScotlandI think they call that 'taking one for the team' as Fleck enters the book for a cynical foul on Golovin.
43'

I think they call that 'taking one for the team' as Fleck enters the book for a cynical foul on Golovin.

42'
41'

Golovin denied! The space opened up for Golovin just inside the box, he got the left-footed strike away on goal, but Marshall was equal to it. It was a nice height for the Scotland goalkeeper.

40'

McGinn is back on the pitch and looks to be fine to continue. That's a relief for Clarke. The midfielder has been in excellent form for Aston Villa over the past few weeks.

39'

McGinn down! This will be a worry for Clarke and Aston Villa. McGinn has gone down and there was no contact with a Russian player. The medical treatment are looking at him now.

38'

Dyzuba has scored six goals in his last five appearances for Russia and there's no doubt that he is the target for the home side with the crosses into the Scotland penalty box.

37'
36'

Burke's final ball has to be better than that. He had options on both sides as he burst through the Russian midfield, but he plays his pass straight to an opponent. He'll be disappointed with that.

35'

Freekick over! Fleck gave away a freekick right on the edge of his own box. Golovin attempted the cheeky chip over the wall, but it didn't come down quickly enough and flashes over.

34'

Remember I said that it was still goalless between Belgium and San Marino in the other game in this group? Well, that was soooo four minutes ago. Belgium now have a 2-0 lead...

33'
32'

Clarke will be relatively pleased with what he has seen from his team in this first half so far, but Scotland must do more to pose a threat at the attacking end of the pitch. Toothless.

31'

Scotland were in behind! That's the second time that Snodgrass has had the chance to really cut through the Russian defence, but he is stopped before he could find Fraser who was free!

30'

Here's a strange one for you - Belgium are playing San Marino in another game in this group this evening and they have yet to make the breakthrough. It's still 0-0 in Brussels.

29'

Burke is back on the pitch and that will be a relief for Clarke because Scotland's whole game plan seems to be focused on getting the ball in behind for the Alaves forward to chase.

28'

Burke injury? This could be a problem for Clarke. Burke seems to have hurt his shoulder landing on the ground after an aerial challenge. Scotland don't really have another option up front.

27'

Scotland are getting pegged deeper and deeper inside their own half here and that is making it much more difficult for them to hit out on the counter attack through the pace of Burke.

26'

Palmer tries to play the ball forward for Burke, but it was a very poor pass and the Russian defence had no problems in picking it off. The ball has to be much better than that.

25'

Shot blocked! It's another opportunity for Ionov in a dangerous position, but this time his low shot at the back post is blocked by Robertson before it could present Marshall with a test.

24'
23'

Cleared by Palmer! Dzyuba's lay-off set up Ionov who in turn played the ball out to Fernandes. He got the low cross through the legs of Robertson, but the scrambled clearance was made.

22'

Fernandes is such an effective outlet for Russia down the right side. He showed that during the World Cup. At times he essentially plays as a right-sided forward, he's that high.

21'

There is a sense that Russia are cranking up the pressure on Scotland after a fairly even opening 20 minutes. Robertson blocks a Dzyuba cross into the middle. Corner comes to nothing.

20'

A few moments ago, Robertson backed into Fernandes to prevent the Russian right back from getting a clear header on goal. Scotland need to be careful with crosses into their box.

19'

This was the scene before kick off...

18'

Russia haven't conceded a goal in any of their last seven home qualifiers. That's more than 11 hours. This won't be an easy task for Scotland. The hosts are dominating possession.

17'

Palmer has been selected by Clarke to play at right back for Scotland this evening. He has been playing at left back for Sheffield Wednesday this season. If there's one thing Scotland don't need more of...

16'

Fraser burst down the right side and got an early ball into the box, but there was nobody in a dark blue shirt in the middle to get on the end of the delivery from the Bournemouth man.

15'
14'

Fleck has been favoured over Christie over this game by Clarke. The former Rangers midfielder has been in good form for Sheffield United in the Premier League. This is his international debut.

13'

The appointment of Clarke as Scotland manager at the end of last season was universally popular, but the former Kilmarnock boss has yet to improve the national team's form.

12'

First chance for Russia! Fernandes' cross from the right is deflected to the back post where Kudryashov was waiting, but the left back lashed his volley high and wide of the target.

11'
10'

Chance on the counter! All of a sudden, things opened up for Scotland on the break. Snodgrass was 30 yards out, but clean through. Dzhikiya came across to make the tackle for Russia.

9'

Both sides are just feeling their way into this match. Russia are seeing the majority of the ball, which is to be expected. Scotland on the other hand are trying to hit out on the counter.

8'

Scotland have been on the end of some rough treatment in the early stages of this match. This time it's Snodgrass who is very crudely brought down the centre circle.

7'

Dzyuba was very impressive in the qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park. He found the back of the net and was a thorn in the side of the Scottish defence all night long.

6'

After this, Scotland face San Marino at Hampden Park. Things have been tough for Clarke and his players since he took over as manager of the national team. That one should be a bit easier, though.

5'

Burke is playing the lone forward role for Scotland this evening. McBurnie pulled out of the squad through injury and Griffiths still isn't ready to return to the national team fold. Bare bones.

4'

Robertson is cleaned out as he surged down the left wing. Burke isn't happy because he feels Scotland should have been able to continue, but the freekick is given by the referee.

3'

The scene before kick off in Moscow.

2'

As mentioned in the build up, this is about building momentum and saving face for Scotland who are currently slumped in second last place in this Euro 2020 qualification group.
