That's not far away! Brazil can only clear as far as Flores 20 yards from goal and his first-time shot has Alisson scurrying across his goal. It's just wide.

73'

Peru go close! Yotun sneaks in behind the Brazil defence on the left, but from an acute angle he can only force Alisson into a save at his near post.

71'

Now then, how will that change things? Will Peru find a second wind now with their man advantage?

Peru are enjoying a decent spell just now. Yotun whips a dangerous free-kick into the Brazil penalty area but Silva rises highest to head clear. Peru come again, however.

64'

Cueva skips by a challenge in midfield but Guerrero doesn't have the legs anymore to reach the midfielder's through-pass. This game, however, remains in the balance with just over 25 minutes to play.

62'

Peru could easily have caved in after Brazil's opener but they dug in and somehow found an equaliser. You cannot dismiss them at this stage.

61'
60'

On the hour mark and Brazil are leading with two goals from their only two shots on target. They are becoming increasingly dangerous, however.

57'

Firmino heads wide! Brazil are in a hurry to kill this game off as a contest. Sandro whips a ball to the near post, picking out Firmino whose brave header flashes wide of the post.

Chance for Brazil! A terrific run by Coutinho is stopped by Trauco's inch-perfect crunching challenge on the edge of the box. The ball is then carved through to Firmino who screws his shot wide across the face of goal.

But wait... it's going to VAR! What's the referee going to do here?

41'

PENALTY TO PERU! Very harsh on Brazil. Cueva's cross is blocked by the hand of Silva, completely accidentally, but the referee points to the spot.

40'

Brazil's rearguard has yet to be breached in this tournament - and Peru are struggling to get anything going in the final third.

37'

Firmino heads over! Alex Sandro whips a cross to the far post, Firmino towers above his marker but can't keep his header down.

36'

Brazil have enjoyed 62 per cent of possession. With 10 minutes to go until half-time, they're looking good value for their lead.

34'

Everton puts the foot down and leaves his marker for dead with a powerful run down the left flank. What a tournament he's having.

29'

Brazil are frighteningly quick on the counter - and Jesus draws the foul on the left flank.

27'

Peru force a corner - they need to make the most of these set-pieces - but Guerrero heads well over at the near post.

25'

Now they're in their groove, Brazil.

24'

Coutinho goes close! Firmino drives to the by-line and pulls it back into centre. Coutinho beats his marker to the ball but with an instinctive toe-poke, stabs it wide.

21'

Gremio forward Everton is now the competition's top goalscorer with three goals. Will he be snapped up by one of Europe's leading clubs this summer? Seems inevitable.

19'

That goal has settled Brazil and put them in the driving seat. Enjoying lots of the ball now and dictating the pace of the game.

16'

That's a huge blow for Peru. They had been the better side up to now. There's no stopping Everton, though, whose price keeps on rising.

13'

Brazil finally enjoy a sustained spell of possession - signs, perhaps, they are finally growing into the contest.

11'

Firmino miscontrols a ball on the left flank, failing to keep it in play. This has been very sloppy from the hosts.

10'

Brazil are playing incredibly deep, offering plenty of protection to their goalkeeper Alisson.

9'

Jesus commits a foul in midfield - the home supporters roar in frustration. Peru will be very satisfied with how the early stages have panned out.

7'

Brazil actually struggled in the opening 10 minutes of the group game with Peru, but, as you know, they went on to win 5-0.

6'

All the early running has been from Peru. Facing an almost impossible task, they have looked the more settled in the very early exchanges.

4'

The referee is letting absolutely nothing go, preventing the game from getting into any kind of rhythm.

3'

There have been stoppages aplenty in the early stages of the game - sadly, a feature of this tournament.

2'

Tite's name was booed by the Brazil supporters before kick-off. Make no mistake, he is under huge pressure to deliver the trophy.

KICK-OFF! Peru get the Copa America 2019 final underway!

20:55

FIVE MINUTE WARNING: A terrific atmosphere at the Estadio do Maracana. Five years after their World Cup dream on home soil was ended traumatic fashion, Brazil are ready to claim their first major trophy since 2007. Can Peru cause an upset?

20:50

Peru manager Ricardo Gareca believes his side have what it takes to stun Brazil. "When you make it to the final, you have to try to win it. There's no other option," he said. "We have the players to do it. We are peaking right now. If I had to choose a time to make it to the final, it would be now."

20:45

Brazil's key men are obvious, but what about Peru? Renato Tapia and Yoshimar Yotun were the standout players in midfield against Chile, while goalkeeper Pedro Gallese has recovered admirably since a mistake against Brazil in the group stage.

20:40

On tonight's opponents, Tite was refusing to underestimate Peru, even after the 5-0 thrashing two weeks ago. "Both teams are stronger now. It will come down to who wants it more and who performs better on the pitch. We have to prepare ourselves for every possible situation, including conceding the first goal, and we are prepared."

20:35

Tite, 58, is reportedly unhappy with the forced changes to his background staff, including assistant coach Sylvinho who moved to Lyon.

Asked by reporters about his future, Tite would only say: "The contract is until 2022, after the World Cup."

20:30

Brazil are unbeaten in 15 games since their exit from the World Cup defeat to Belgium last summer, however, Tite's job as manager is reportedly under threat even if he lands the Copa America tonight.

20:19

Willian isn't deemed fit enough to start having suffered a hamstring injury in the victory over Argentina, while Fernandinho is still recovering from a knock he picked up earlier in the tournament. That means Tite goes with the same starting XI from the semi-final with the formidable foursome of Firmino, Jesus, Coutinho and Everton all featuring from the off. Meanwhile, Peru are also unchanged.

20:14

BRAZIL TEAM NEWS

Subs: Miranda, Filipe Luis, Heres, Willian, Militao, Allan, Ramos, Fernandinho, Paqueta, Richarilson, Fagner, Ederson.

20:11

The teams are in...

20:10

Peru are playing in their first Copa America for the first time since winning it back in 1975. They were thrashed 5-0 by Brazil in the group stages, but that game was essentially a dead rubber. They kept a clean sheet in both knockout stages, stunning Uruguay in a penalty shootout before breezing past Chile.

20:05

Brazil have won the Copa America every time they have hosted it. Even without Neymar, they have been unstoppable, scoring 10 goals and have yet to concede. Traditionally a team of flair and skill, this Brazilian side is built on their defensive nous.

20:00

Hello and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of the Copa America final between hosts Brazil and underdogs Peru. Fresh from beating Argentina 2-0 in the semi-final.
