2'

Dele has a chance to break down the right but is cut out by Schmelzer.

1'

French referee Clement Turpin gets the party started. Tottenham kick-off going right to left on the TV broadcast you're probably not watching.

19.44

BvB must win their last two matches to stand a chance of progressing. If Tottenham can match Real Madrid's result tonight, they will have virtually secured top spot in the group.

19.43

'You'll Never Walk Alone' has been played and the teams are on the pitch. Kick-off is moments away.

19.42

That aforementioned game in Dortmund two years ago was a 2-1 Europa League loss for Spurs. Aubameyang scored both of BvB's goals that night.

19.41

Poch on BT Sport: We have a big squad. Everyone can play and it’s always important to change and freshen up the team. It was completely different [in Dortmund] two years ago. It’s massive what Tottenham are doing in this time; if we look back and what the team has achieved in the last few years is so important. We feel good, fantastic.”

19.40

Dortmund are winless in the Champions League in six games and Aubameyang hasn't scored in over a month. However, the team has scored in their last seven Bundesliga outings.

19.35

If Spurs fans are expecting an easy ride in front of the Yellow Wall tonight, be warned: Dortmund have only lost once at home to English opposition in this competition (W6, D4) and have never conceded more than once.

19.30

Dortmund will be boosted by the return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who sat out of the squad last week after turning up late for training. The Gabonese forward has managed 15 goals in 12 appearances this season.

19.25

Tottenham have already qualified for the knockout stages, with three points separating Mauricio Pochettino's side from Real Madrid. Naturally - or 'Naturlich,' if you will - they will want to get a result in Germany for a favourable draw in the Round of 16. Hence, the strong team tonight.

Against BvB at Wembley, Spurs sat a little deeper and broke furiously on the counter. Perhaps they will employ similar tactics this evening.

19.20

Dortmund are in poor form right now, having picked up just one win from their last five outings. A pair of 1-1 draws against APOEL also leaves them in a precarious position in Europe: they have just two points in Group H, sitting above the aforementioned Cypriote champions by virtue of goal difference.

At this point, manager Peter Bosz's reign might be measured in hours, rather then weeks or months.

19.15

Kane and able.

19.10

It's a brisk bobble-hat-worthy 8°C at the Westfalenstadion, with humidity at 87% and winds of around 18km/h.

You ask for the news, we give you a side-helping of weather. You're welcome.

19.05

Twenty years ago today, Borussia Dortmund were the reigning Champions League holders, who beat Galatasaray 4-1 at home in the fifth Group Stage game to extend their lead at the top of Group A.

Today, they must beat Tottenham and hope Real Madrid slip up in their final two games to have any chance of progressing to the knockout rounds.

19.00

Dortmund have made three changes to the team that was beaten by Stuttgart last Friday. Tottenham might just be setting up with a 4-2-3-1, with Dier and Winks protecting the back line and Son, Eriksen and Dele sitting behind Harry Kane.

18.55

BORUSSIA DORTMUND: Bürki, Schmelzer, Bartra, Toljan, Weigl, Götze, Kagawa, Guerreiro, Yarmolenko, Aubameyang, Zagadou. Subs: Weidenfeller, Philipp, Dahoud, Sahin, Schürrle, Toprak, Castro. /// TOTTENHAM: Lloris, Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Winks, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane. Subs: Vorm, Davies, Font, Trippier, Dembele, Sissoko, Llorente.

18.53

Eighteen-year-old defender Dan-Axel Zagadou earns a start for the home team, while Christian Pulisic fails to make the squad on account of a muscle injury.

18.48

Danny Rose returns to the starting line-up for Tottenham, having missed out on the North London Derby. Heung-Min Son also starts, while Moussa Sissoko will be sitting down in a tracksuit top and bib until called upon.

Some might say this is the team they should have started against Arsenal...
