Eve Muirhead's Scotland rink bounced back in style to record a much needed 10-5 victory over Finland at the European Curling Championships in Tallinn.

The defending champions have been in indifferent form throughout the competition after suffering three losses from their opening five contests, but Muirhead's skipped side never looked troubled against Finland.

Their opponents took the lead in the first end, but Muirhead, a Sochi bronze medallist, kept her composure to guide her quartet to victory in only eight ends.

Speaking after the match Muirhead said: "That was a good game and we all played well, but we've got to treat every game like a final now."

Switzerland remain the only unbeaten women's team in the competition as they secured a sixth straight victory at the event with a 10-6 victory over Denmark.

Silvana Tirinzoni's side made the perfect start to their round-robin clash, throwing three stones in the house in the first end and the Danes could never make up for their slow start.

Meanwhile Germany clinched their fifth win of the tournament in Estonia with a 10-5 thrashing of Latvia a day after their opponents downed the reigning champions.

German skip Daniela Jentsch remarked: "We went into this game more nervous than for the other games because we knew this was another must-win for us.

"Now we've got all the must-wins done and the strong opponents are coming. We've done everything we could do now and everything else is a bonus."

Italy left it late to gain their first win at the sixth time of asking as they clinched a 7-6 victory in the final end.

Elsewhere, Sweden were held to a 7-7 draw with Russia with both rinks stranded on three wins and two losses after six rounds of action.
