Porpramook claims WBC belt
Kompayak Porpramook delighted his home fans in Bangkok by dethroning WBC light flyweight champion Adrian Hernandez with a 10th round stoppage.
A no-holds barred brawl ended when the visiting Mexican champion was sent to the canvas by a barrage from the 29-year-old challenger.
The referee waved off the count when Hernandez fell forward in his attempt to get off the deck.
It was a 22nd consecutive victory for Porpramook whose overall record improves to 44-3.
Hernandez only claimed the belt in April with a stoppage of Gilberto Keb Bass with a solitary successful defence in September against Gideon Buthelezi.
In the co-feature, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam's WBC flyweight title defence against Hirofumi Mukai ended after just 47 seconds following an accidental head clash.
The Japanese challenger was badly cut, resulting in the contest being declared a technical draw.
The 34-year-old Thai was making the fourth defence of his title in his second spell as the belt holder.
