Guerrieri doubles up in WTCC style at home
Esteban Guerrieri used his home rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship to deliver one of his best weekends in the WTCC so far with a third and a fourth in the two races at Circuito Termas de Río Hondo.
Guerrieri, who also took top WTCC Trophy honours in the Main Race, now has 113 points in the overall standings, 22 fewer than former world champion Rob Huff.
“It’s been two very tough races,” said the Buenos Aires resident. “For me I am really happy be honest how the Sunday turned around to be a very good Sunday. Two very aggressive races. I was in the good side in every manoeuvre I did. In the end I was a bit lucky sometimes because when you push things can go wrong as well. But the races were good, good overtaking, good manoeuvres, good fights with everybody, this is what the people wanted to see.
"It’s been a very solid weekend for us so I am very thankful to all the team Campos and everybody who came to support us here.”
