Ostberg escapes Czech accident
Adapta Ford World Rally driver Mads Ostberg was checked in hospital for possible back injuries after a violent crash during the Rally Bohemia shakedown.
The Norwegian was planning to contest the Czech event in a Regional Rally Car-spec Ford prior to the accident.
Ostberg's father and team manager Morten said it was initially feared that the injuries were very serious.
"He's now checked out from hospital and is on his feet again," said Ostberg senior.
"The doctors feared his back was broken in two places, but gladly it wasn't that bad."
Ostberg was also scheduled to contest Rally Estonia next weekend, but this now depends on the results of further medical checks in Norway during the week.
The next WRC round is in Finland at the end of July. Ostberg is currently fourth in the world championship.
