Bellucci upsets Tipsarevic to win Gstaad title
Thomaz Bellucci fought back from a set down to stun top seed Janko Tipsarevic and win the final of the Gstaad International 6-7(6) 6-4 6-2.
The Brazilian won only the third title of his career and his first for almost two-and-a-half years at the claycourt tournament in Switzerland.
Tipsarevic, the world number eight, had beaten Bellucci on the same surface in the Stuttgart semi-final last week, and when he won the first-set tie-break it looked as though the Serb was on course for back-to-back tournament triumphs.
However, world number 60 Bellucci fought back to take the next set and then avenged that defeat in Germany by comfortably taking the decider.
Both men are set to join up with the rest of their compatriots in London ahead of the Olympic tournament at Wimbledon.
