Series leader Max Biaggi will start race one from second spot with fellow Aprilia rider Eugene Laverty just shy of his time and Leon Haslam of BMW Motorrad also on the front row.
Marco Melandri, who dominated qualifying practice, could only manage fifth, ahead of Jonathan Rea, who had struggled in the two QP sessions on the factory Honda and stands second in the championship.
Ducati Althea’s Carlos Checa was seventh with Chaz Davies of ParkinGO MTC Aprilia eighth after reaching Superpole 3 for the first time this season.
He was hindered in the final mini-session by running off the track on a hot lap.
