Extra tickets have been put on sale for Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline Gymnastics, Tennis, Basketball, Cycling (Road), Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Taekwondo and Archery events.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) have released an additional batch of tickets for this summer’s Games.

The additional tickets amounted to around 50,000, following the finalization of official seating plans which allowed LOCOG to adjust the numbers available.

Based on the high demand for tickets from the public, particularly for Gymnastics, LOCOG has made a number of seats within hospitality suites available at the North Greenwich Arena for the public to buy tickets to watch Basketball, Gymnastics Artistic, and Gymnastics Trampoline.

Regarding the release of more general access tickets LOCOG Commercial Director Chris Townsend said, ‘More great tickets to watch Olympic sport have gone on sale. Further tickets will be released on an almost daily basis from now until Games time. We encourage anyone interested in buying tickets to visit the ticketing website regularly to check the latest ticket availability’.

As LOCOG get extra tickets via their resale platform and the organisers release further contingency tickets, they will be put up for sale online and announced via online and mainstream media.

For fans not wanting to spend too much on tickets there are several options available, with events such as Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Table Tennis and Hockey being very reasonably priced.

Meanwhile, with events such as the cycling road races on the opening weekend of the Games on 28th and 29th July there will be large sections of the course which will be free for spectators to view. The course starts on The Mall in central London before running down to Box Hill in Surrey and then returning to the capital.
