Along with Middlesbrough, Newcastle will fly the North East flag for the Live Sites with its own big screen situated right in the middle of the city centre. The 25 square metre screen means everybody will be guaranteed a great view of the historic London Games.
Coverage of both the Olympic and Paralympic Games will keep fans entertained this summer, and deck chairs will ensure that the spectacular event is celebrated in comfort!
In the build-up to the Games a packed summer schedule of screenings has brought the city together, with the European Championship and Wimbledon both shown live and the city's own Great North Run also to be broadcast upon the conclusion of the Games.
Newcastle United's St James Park will also play an integral part in the Games, hosting Olympic football in the soccer-mad city. Famed for its fanatical support of the 'Magpies', Newcastle will provide a superb Live Site location for watching the Games.
How to get there? Newcastle Central station is a short walk from Grey Street, and Monument Metro station is next to Grey's Monument. There is an extensive bus network running through the city centre.
