Golden weekend of festival events for fans
As the medals continue to be handed out at the Games, Olympic fans will be treated to some prizes of their own this weekend as the London 2012 Festival puts on an array of excellent free events.
The Festival has been running from June 21 and continues until September 9, the final day of the Paralympics, and is offering more than 10 million free opportunities to take part across the UK.
This weekend will see a plethora of choice as dozens of London 2012 Festival events take place across the capital with theatre, film, music, visual art, heritage, photography, sculpture, literature, architecture, fashion, ceramics and outdoor performance all being celebrated.
Amongst the venues hosting free events this weekend are the Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery, the British Museum, the Royal Opera House, the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery, Somerset House, the Houses of Parliament, the Royal Festival Hall and the National Theatre to name just a few.
