The Australian has finalised a deal to represent the BSB team for the remainder of the 2012 season.

Aitchison split from WSBK outfit Grillini after just five rounds of this year's championship and now makes the switch to replace Gary Mason who left Quattro Plant Kawasaki earlier this season.

“I am very happy to be joining Quattro Plant Kawasaki, in what is a very competitive championship,” Aitchison said.

“As I was in the Northwest meeting with John (Jameson) and Julian (Mosquera), I took the opportunity to ride Steve Heneghan's Superstock around Oulton Park for six laps, before we come here as part of the championship next week.

“For me it will be important to build and develop myself and the bike over the next few rounds. In such a series as the BSB, we need to build up the momentum before we can challenge at the front."

Quattro Plant Kawasaki team manager John Jameson said: "Circumstances unfortunately conspired to cause us to look for a new team-mate for Freddy (Foray), but in doing so we couldn't have landed better in securing WSBK rider Mark Aitchison for the balance of 2012.

"We are looking for Mark to help move the team on and demonstrate the true potential of our Kawasaki ZX-10R.

"We'll see where that leads in due course, but it's fair to say Mark has already made an impression and the team is highly motivated. I believe the combination of Freddy and Mark will be a great asset to the team and BSB."
