Leparoux moving to New York
French jockey Julien Leparoux has decided to make a career switch to the New York circuit.
Based in Louisville, Kentucky, since 2006, Leparoux is embarking on a new phase in his career by moving to New York.
“I was looking for a new challenge and to try something different,” said the jockey, clearly excited about the move.
“Obviously there’s going to be a lot of competition in New York thanks to the casino money. A lot of Kentucky trainers will be racing more horses there, like Kenny McPeek, Steve Asmussen and Dale Romans. I think it will be a good experience for me.”
Leparoux will head to his new base after the Kentucky Derby on May 5.
