DRIVER VIEW from Yas Marina Circuit

Vitantonio Liuzzi

"The circuit is quite a typical modern layout with right angle corners and longish straights leading into tight hairpins. It's not the most challenging we visit, but there are still some interesting features, including the fact that we run under the lights. We start at sunset and finish in the dark, but as in Singapore the organisers have done a good job of installing a fantastic lighting system."

CHARACTERISTICS from Yas Marina Circuit

Abu Dhabi:

Yas Marina provides the sport's first day-to-night race on a lavish, no-expense-spared facility, costing $1 billion to build according to some estimates. Overtaking is extremely difficult, making for processional races. With over 20 corners to each lap, some appearing to be very challenging, the circuit will be quite stop-start and holds many similarities with Valencia and Melbourne. Downforce will generally be on the higher side for drivers, but not at maximum because of the few long straights where speed is important.
