Holebas' set piece is cleared and when it's fed back to him he's flagged offside. More frustration for Greece.
Greece corner. Can they make one of these count?
Samaras glides down the left and chips a ball into the area but it's too close to Navas.
The Greeks are swarming around that Costa Rica area. Tick tock, tick tock...
Five Greeks break on two defenders from the corner... it's played to Christodoulopoulos who drills a shot at the keeper. They should have walked that in!
Costa Rica showing a bit more going forward in this period. Cubero gets to the right byline and crosses for Campbell who can't flick it towards goal.
Torosidis picks a poor moment to fire in his worst cross of the game. Goal kick for Costa Rica who are still trying to run out of the clock.
Just ten minutes left as Greece turn the screw. Can they find that winning goal?

Katsouranis gets a sight of goal but it's superbly blocked just as he was about to pull the trigger.
Brenes blocks Holebas' cross and concedes the corner... It's scrappy in the area and Papastathopoulos stabs over, but the referee had already blown for a free kick. Some respite for Costa Rica who are clearly trying to get to penalties.
Greece are camped in Costa Rica's half. Samaras sets off on a mazy run but is well stopped by Cubero.
A superb cross from the right is met by the merest of flicks by Mitroglou and Gekas can't react in time to turn it home.
Campbell twists and turns 35 yards from goal but is well tackled by the evergreen Karagounis.
Right now, he's the toast of Greece!
The pattern seems set. Greece have their tails up and Costa Rica look physically and mentally shattered.
Torosidis whips in a cross that Umana gets a toe to and it just evades Gekas.
EXTRA TIME: Greece kick off.
You never know, it might be an action-packed period of extra time... then again....
We will have extra time after Greece levelled it at the death!
Navas has down for the last minute. Is this time wasting or is he really hurt? He's clutching his arm but is up and ready for the corner now.
GREECE CHANCE! Mitroglou glances a header at goal and Navas tips it over the top!
That was his first goal for Greece. What a time to get it... Now can they get a sensational winner?
GOAL! Greece level it!!!!! Papastathopoulos pounces on the rebound after Gekas' shot on the turn was beaten out by the keeper. Extra time beckons.
FIVE minutes have been added.
Navas booked for time wasting. He won't care if his team see this out.
Everyone back in their own half for Costa Rica. They are so close now. Can Greece do a Holland and comeback from the dead?
CLOSE! Christodoulopoulos glides to the right byline and drills a low ball towards Motroglou who can't convert and Navas is able to gather.
Karagounis is SO frustrated after conceding a free kick in the far left corner. Ruiz will waste a bit of time here.
Ruiz and Brenes break down the left. The Latter clips a cross into the area but it's headed clear.
A corner from the right can't pick out any of the blue shirts in the middle. One of these balls in will surely pay dividends... Costa Rica aren't learning their lesson.
COSTA RICA sub: Brenes on, Bolanos off.
Torosidis floats a lovely ball over the top for Gekas but his touch eludes him and the chance goes begging.
Holebas clips it in and Manolas heads well wide. He wants a corner but the referee isn't fooled.
Another free kick to Greece. This time it's 40 yards out, slightly to the left.
Karagounis shoots and it's an awful attempt. It curls at least 10 yards over!
Karagounis shows some neat feet to earn a free kick 35 yards out. Time running out for Greece to rescue this.
GREECE sub: Katsouranis on for Maniatis. Can he be the hero after the social media campaign against him?
COSTA RICA sub: Gamboa off, Acosta on.
Duarte = Infamous.

Manolas booked as he brings an abrupt end to a Costa Rica counter attack.
Holebas marauds down the left and fizzes a low ball into the six-yard box but Gonzalez hooks it away. Superb defending.

Greece starting to get more and more crosses in now with Christodoulopoulos guiding a deflected ball from the left off target.
GREECE sub: Salpingidis off, Gekas on.
Don't say that!
Greece almost make them pay from the resulting free kick as Samaras glances a header wide.
Duarte sent off! It's a second yellow for a late tackle on Holebas. Costa Rica down to 10-men.
COSTA RICA sub: Tejeda off, Jose Cubero on.
What can Greece do to turn this around? They've already had a great escape against Ivory Coast in the group stage. Do they have another surprise in them?
As it stands, Costa Rica will face Holland in the last eight on July 5 in Salvador.
It must be the least powerful goal from outside the area at this WC!
We've seen very little response from Greece. They've made an attacking change but so far nothing in that final third.
A screengrab of that penalty shout...
Ruiz revelling in Recife!
GREECE sub: Samaris off, Mitroglu on.
Relief spreads across Twitter at that Ruiz goal!
The referee races to the dugout and books Oscar Granados, a substitute keeper! Strange!
It should be a penalty as a cross from the right is touched by the hand of Torosidis. Greece escape!
We needed that goal, we really did! And here come Costa rica again....
GOAL! Ruiz opens the scoring with a shot from the edge of the area after Bolanos picked him out from the left. It lacked pace but completely fooled the keeper who thought it was going to fizz towards his right-hand post. It didn't and Cost Rica lead!
While we wait something interesting to happen(!) here's a photo from the first half.
Karagounis sears it into the near post area where Papastathopoulos flicks a header way over the bar.

Tejeda booked for a lunging tackle on Karagounis.
Holebas whips a free kick from the left onto the head of Samaras who can only plant it straight into the arms of the keeper.
A bit too close for comfort!
KICK OFF! Greece restart this last 16 clash. Fingers crossed there's more excitement in this second period.
My pre-match thought was that this would be a dour affair that goes to penalties. Seems like I wasn't the only one...
HT: Greece 0-0 Costa Rica. Salpingidis had the best and only real chance of the half but his attempt was brilliantly kept out by Navas in the Ticos goal.
Two minutes added.
Samaris tries his luck from 35 yards and he really shouldn't have! It bobbles well wide and goes for a throw.
It's not been the best half of football at this summer's World Cup. We really need a goal to get this going.
Karagounis over it...He curls it to the edge of the six-yard box but it's too tempting for Navas and he comes and claims.
Duarte booked. Free kick to Greece in a great position about 25 yards out to the far left of the area.
The Greek capital would have exploded if that Salpingidis chance had gone in.
That was the standout moment of the half so far. Wonderful save.
The resulting corner is fired into the mix but Navas is deemed to have been fouled and Costa Rica survive.
STUNNING SAVE! A wonderful ball from the left is met by Salpingidis at the far post, but Navas somehow keeps it out.
Bolanos arcs the free kick into the area but it's simple enough for a well-drilled Greek defence.
Samaris booked for a late tackle on Campbell.
Another long ball, this time by Gamboa, is aimed towards Campbell - but Manolas gets his body in the way and the Arsenal man can't sneak through.
Gonzalez angles a raking ball from left to right but he doesn't give Ruiz a hope of getting to it. It's gone very scrappy after a bright-ish opening.
This graphic sums it up.
A long ball over the top towards Samaras is overhit and floats out of play. This game needs an injection of something to get it going. A goal would do nicely!
Gamboa loves to get forward and wins another corner for Costa Rica on the right. Campbell fires it in but Karnezis claims with relative ease.
Holebas floats a dangerous ball towards Samaras who is caught offside. There are some daner signs for Ticos. They aren't handling the Celtic man.
Karagounis shoots from 30 yards... good hands from Navas as it bounced in front of him.
Christodoulopoulos dummies a cross and cuts in from the left, but Costa Rica double up on him and manage to block him off.
The diagonal ball towards Samaras is causing some issues for Ticos.
STAT: The last team from CONCACAF to go further than the last 16 at the World Cup are the USA in 2002.
Karagounis corner is met by Borges at the near post. It's commanding clearance and the danger passes for Costa Rica.
Gonzalez is forced to concede a corner as the diagonal ball from left to right almost finds the run of Samaras.
Karagounis runs into a challenge from Duarte and comes off worse, clutching his knee. He'll be fine to continue though.
Bolanos fires it to the far post but it doesn't find a Costa Rican head and Greece breathe a sigh of relief.
Bolanos will take it. Bit of a delay as the referee tries to sort out a few scuffles in the box.
A short corner is worked to Campbell who skins his man before being upended by Karagounis just outside the area. It's on the edge of the box on the far right. Chance to dink one in.
Ruiz and Gamboa combine down the right with the latter winning a corner.
Campbell wins possession, sprays it out to the left and then darts into the middle. But he can't get on the end of the low cross that is easily hacked away at the near post.
He must be confident then...
Greece look good down the left flank, but give it away on this occasion and Ruiz is fouled on the centre circle to half a Costa Rica break.
Hopefully we will see some goals here. Greece's only clean sheet in nine matches at the WC came against Japan earlier in this tournament.
Karagounis' delivery is met by Papastathopoulos who can only guide a header wide after readjusting his run.
Greece earn the first corner of the contest. Karagounis will take it.
DID YOU KNOW? Greece have only won two of their nine World Cup matches. Both of those were by a 2-1 scoreline against African opposition (Nigeria in 2010 and Ivory Coast in 2014). Those wins are the only games in which they have managed to find the net.
Christodoulopoulos cuts in from the left but pulls his right-foot effort wide of the near post. It literally trickled out for a goal kick.
Greece's number 10 has been around for a while...
This has been a bright opening from Ticos. It's been much more open than expected.
Gonzalez drops one over the top for Bolaños but it's slightly overhit and Greece have a breather.
STAT: Greece are the only nation in the last 16 that ended the group phase with a negative goal difference (-2).

This is the first time that Greece have ever reached the knockout stage of the World Cup while Costa Rica have achieved the feat once before back in 1990.
Campbell wins the ball in Greece's half and surges towards goal. But the Arsenal man's pass is overcooked and Ruiz can't make anything of it on the far right of the area. A better ball would have seen him in on goal.
Gamboa motors forward on the right and gets the ball back off Ruiz before dragging a low effort well wide of the far post. Positive play from Ticos.
No prior history to suggest who might have an upper hand here as this is the first ever meeting between Costa Rica and Greece.
An early free kick on the right is whipped in by Karagounis. Costa Rica get it clear but only as far as Christodoulopoulos who flashes a shot over the top from distance.
Could the memory of 2004 inspire Greece?
KICK OFF! Costa Rica get us underway. Holland await...
STAT: Greece's seven wins at major tournaments have never been by more than one clear goal (four 1-0 victories and three 2-1 wins).

A former Barcelona and Liverpool star is tipping an old teammate from his time in Greece to thrive today.

The Greek players have been enjoying a lot of positive press in the last few days - and not all of it is down to their displays on the pitch.
Can the Costa Rica custodian maintain his imperious record?
STAT: Costa Rica conceded the equal fewest goals in the group stage along with Mexico and Belgium.

Jorge Pinto: "We are really doing our job, we're writing history of football for our country. We came here with the tag of dark horses, and we've surprised the world. Since we came here we've trusted in ourselves, we have no ceiling for our performance. I can't tell you how far we're going to go, but we want to go as far as possible."
SPOTLIGHT: Player comparison.
Fernando Santos: "We showed against Ivory Coast how well we can defend but also how good we can be in attack. We created a lot of chances and we kept attacking until the end. Even when we conceded the 74th minute equaliser, we continued to attack."
Everton's Bryan Oviedo has tweeted his support for his countrymen. The Toffees full back missed the World Cup as a result of a broken leg suffered in an FA Cup tie with Stevenage back in January.
The winner of this one will face Holland in Salvador on July 5 after the Dutch needed late, late goals from Sneijder and Huntelaar (pen) to secure a 2-1 comeback victory against Mexico. Giovani dos Santos had given El Tri the lead early in the second period with a stunning 25-yard drive.
