90+3'

That's it! Quite the shock as Bolivia earn a comfortable win over a Lionel Messi-less Argentina. Without their suspended captain, La Albiceleste were lacklustre in the extreme in the altitude in La Paz, and got what they deserved. One goal in each half was enough for the men in Green as they stunned the superstars of Argentina, but they could not have had in much easier. Thanks for joining us. Full report to follow on site. Goodbye.

90+2'

The Argentina fans in the stadium are starting to leave. They have seen enough. Bolivia firmly in control.

90'

Pratto's effort sums up the visitors' evening as he attempts to acrobatically hook the ball towards goal, but simply flops to the floor, misses the ball and it runs out for a goal-kick.

88'

Party time in the Hernando Siles as Chumacero threatens to net an incredible solo effort, but blazes well over the top.

-

Fair?

86'

Late change for Bolivia to waste some valuable seconds as Jhasmani Campos comes on for Wayar.

84'

Caruzzo almost lets Moreno get in for his second of the match as he gets a clearance all wrong, but the ball just loops away from the lurking goalscorer.

82'

What will most disappoint the travelling supporters is just how easy it has been for the home side.

81'

Time is running out for Argentina. This could really be damaging in such a tight CONMEBOL qualification process.

79'

All the possession for Argentina now. Di Maria is pulling wide to try and stretch the play, teaming up with Acuna.

77'

CHANCE! Acuna whips a great-looking cross into the middle, Aguero is on the end of it, but he cannot get enough purchase on the volley, and the ball rolls out of play and away from danger.

76'

Banega tries to bulldozes his way in down the left, but again he is superbly shepherded out of play.

74'

Lionel Justiniano comes on for the hosts, replacing the very impressive Arce.

72'

Marcelo Acuna is on to replace Perez for Argentina. That is their final throw of the dice.

71'

SAVE! Great swivel and shot on the edge of the box from Caruzzo brings out the best in Lampe, who gets two strong hands to it to beat the ball away.

69'

CLOSE! Di Maria fires the ball across the six-yard box, and Pratto is only inches away from getting on the end of it as it fizzed across.

67'

COULD BE THREE! Moreno could and maybe should have made it three, but his first effort is blocked, and he cannot react quickly enough as the ball ricochets back to him, and Romero can gather. Great work from Escobar to pull the ball back.

65'

Escobar whips another free-kick into the middle, but Romero is out to gather,

63'

Aguero tries to swivel and get into a shooting position, but he cannot get away from two markers.

62'

SAVE! Pratto, who has looked anything but a capable deputy for Aguero, makes space for the shot, but it would take something very special from such a tight angle to beat Lampe.

-

Timely...

59'

Di Maria whips a free-kick into the middle, but again Bolivia get the ball clear relatively easily.

58'

A break in play gives Argentina time to regroup. There is only so much you can blame on the altitude.

56'

Argentina look done. All the ramifications will centre around the absent Messi, but they still have enough talent to cause more problems than this.

55'

Here comes Sergio Aguero for Argentina, as he replaces Correa, who has been very disappointing.

53'

The Argentina defence simply couldn't keep up with Arce, who got to the byline, pulled the ball back for an unmarked Moreno, who smashed it into the roof of the net.

52'

GOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL: Bolivia 2-0 Argentina. Martins smashes the ball home to inflict more damage on the visitors.

50'

Pizarro sprays the ball wide to Di Maria, but the Paris Saint-Germain forward cannot make anything of it.

48'

Escobar still Bolivia's main threat down the right flank. Rojo is really struggling to keep the pace with the 38-year-old.

47'

Banega lines one up from distance, but he gets that all wrong, and drags his effort well wide.

45'

We are back under way here. Can Argentina find a way back into this?

45'

That is it from the first half in La Paz - and Argentina are really struggling without their talisman.

-

They have been able to attack en masse...

41'

Banega earns himself the game's first yellow card, but that is more for persistent fouling.

39'

The Argentina bench have to be told by the referee to keep their emotions in check. Their frustration is palpable.

38'

Worryingly for Argentina, Di Maria seems to be the only outlet for the visitors. Another run almost creates a chance, but he has no support.

36'

Matías Caruzzo comes on to replace Funes Mori after a break in play.

34'

Funes Mori is down and looks like he will be unable to continue. Another huge blow for Argentina.

-

This!

32'

Incredible. Arce gets the goal, but the cross from Escobar was superb. All Arce had to do was to get any kind of contact onto the long ball to guide the header past Romero using the pace of the supply. Curtains for La Albiceleste?

31'

GOAL! Bolivia 1-0 Argentina. Huge, huge goal in this CONMEBOL group.

30'

71 per cent possession for Bolivia at the moment, but Argentina have worked their way back in it.

29'

SAVE! Great chance for Di Maria as he is clean through, takes it a little wide, elects to try to loft the ball over Lampe, but the Bolivian stopper does well to stick out a hand and block.

27'

SAVE! Argentina really turning the screw. Banega this time has a go from distance, which initially worries Carlos Lampe in the home goal, but he backpedals well and tips the ball over.

25'

CLOSE! As close as Argentina have come to scoring, and it is all Di Maria's own work, as he turns and shoots on the half-volley from distance, but the effort flies just wide.

23'

Arce this time elects to have a go himself, drives the ball towards the bottom corner, but that is easy for Romero to gather.

21'

Facundo Roncaglia should really get the ball into the middle, but delays his cross far too long, allowing the defender time to get back to slide in and make the block.

20'

Better possession for the visitors. Di Maria is getting involved much more regularly and causing problems.

18'

La Albiceleste looked like they had a counter attack on. Di Maria carried the ball forward, skipped past one challenge but overran it and was halted at the last.

17'

SAVE! Sergio Romero is forced into a smart save to deny Raul Castro from distance. The ball bounced up off the turf, making the stop more difficult.

-

They really are on the ropes...

15'

CLOSE! Argentina are all over the place here. Escobar jinks his way into the middle, fires across and it is scrambled clear. Rojo made a crucial block in the melee. The visitors are hanging on here.

13'

Banega flies into the challenge, seems to win the ball, but is penalised and Bolivia are awarded the free-kick.

12'

Enzo Perez tries to bring the ball out, but he is surrounded by green shirts and easily dispossessed.

10'

Juan Arce is the danger down the left. He does brilliantly to again work space for the cross, whips it in, but Rojo is there to clear ay the second attempt.

8'

The visitors cannot get out of their own half at the moment. Martins again heads for goal, but cannot hit the target.

7'

CHANCE! Marcelo Martins is next to go close for Bolivia, as he beats Romiro Funes Mori in the air but can only head wide.

5'

Still all Bolivia here. Escobar is causing all sorts of problems with his movement.

4'

CHANCE! Great opportunity for the veteran Pablo Escobar at the back post, but his control lets him down at the last. Argentina cut open far too easily.

2'

Marcelo Moreno tries to bulldozes his way through the heart of Argentina's backline, but Marcos Rojo is there to make the block.

1'

KICK OFF! We are under way here in La Paz. Ever Banega is the Argentina skipper in place of Messi.

20:53

Messi was crucial to Argentina getting their campaign back on track with a vital 1-0 win over Chile in Buenos Aires last week. That result was so crucial as earlier home defeats to Ecuador and Paraguay and draws against Venezuela and Peru, added to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to great rivals Brazil, had left one of the world's most iconic teams with questions to answer. Will they be able to cope with the altitude in the Bolivian capital, without their talismanic skipper?

20:37

The Bolivia team to try and compound Argentina's woes...

20:28

Messi decision understandably not going down so well...

20:26

Argentina head coach Edgardo Bauza has dropped Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero among eight changes for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.

Sao Paulo striker Lucas Pratto takes Aguero's spot in attack, with Juventus' Gonzalo Higuain is one of four players suspended after collecting a yellow card during last week's 1-0 win over Chile.

Centre-back Nicolas Otamendi and midfielders Javier Mascherano and Lucas Biglia suffered a similar fate to Higuain, while full-backs Gabriel Mercado and Emmanuel Mas sustained respective hamstring and knee injuries. It means Aguero is the only alteration to the starting line-up based upon tactical considerations after he struggled in an unfamiliar number 10 role against Chile in Buenos Aires

TEAM NEWS - ARGENTINA: Romero, Roncaglia, Musacchio, Funes Mori, Rojo, Perez, Pizarro, Banega, Di Maria, Correa, Pratto.

19:55

Hello and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of Argentina's crucial World Cup qualifier against Bolivia in La Paz. Argentina are third in the 10-team South American group with 22 points from 13 games but have only a two-point cushion over sixth-placed Chile, with Colombia (21) and Ecuador (20) sandwiched in between. To put it mildly, tonight's encounter could be make or break. La Albiceleste haven't failed to qualify for a World Cup since 1970. And, in the run up to tonight's clash, Argentina's task has gotten a whole lot harder. I'm Pete Hall, and I will be bringing you the action, as it happens, live.
