Pirlo loses the ball in midfield but Vidal tracks back expertly to win the ball and then a free-kick. Quagliarella plays a loose ball to Pirlo though to possibly offer one last chance of a goal.
Padoin wins a throw down the right as the game enters the first of a minimum of three minutes of added time.
Isla replaces Matri as the Old Lady look to run down the clock.
Bar a 15 minute spell after the Chievo goal, Juve have been ragged this half.
Matri with a late challenge just inside the host’s half.
Dainelli is down in a heap with what looks like a twisted knee, but, as Corini has used all three subs, he will either have to carry on or the hosts will play it out with ten men.
Bar the goal, there has been very little threat to either goal thus far this half.
Vidal has a shot from distance but it is blocked by Dainelli.
Matri is lucky to get away with a handball but then follows that up with a very poor pass out wide that just goes out of play. Very poor second half from that man.
Juve have ten or so minutes to hold on to again open up a three point advantage at the top of the table.
Matri is again caught offside – he is a very frustrating player: he has much talent but can be incredibly infuriating.
Lichtsteiner is replaced by Padoin for the men from Turin.
Acerbi reads an attempted through-ball from Pirlo to step out and start a break for the hosts. Barzagli mops up at the back though.
Pellissier thrashes a ball across the box but Juve clear. Pirlo finds De Ceglie, whose shot, while well-struck, is claimed by Puggioni courtesy of a deflection.
Pellissier, top scorer for the hosts in Serie A, replaces Cofie as Corini chases that leveller.
Chievo preparing a change with Pellissier warming up.
Quagliarella exchanges passes with Vidal but his shot from the edge of the area is blocked.
De Ceglie in the book for a late challenge.
Pogba elects to shoot from outside the box when he may have been better served finding Quagliarella wide of him. Juve upping the pressure now.
Pogba wins a corner but Pirlo wastes it as it goes straight out of play.
The champions have settled and responded now – and they begin to pin their hosts back. Credit Chievo though they are really running hard.
Quagliarella goes a fraction too soon as Pirlo looks to pick him out.
Juve slow the pace of the game right down now.
Pirlo is hacked down now.
Pogba looks to lead a break for the visitors but Cofie scythes him down and is rightly booked.
Quagliarella is straight into the thick of things. He finds Matri, who turns this way and that before dallying too long and allowing the hosts to get a block in. That’s Juve’s first real threat this half.
Giovinco is replaced by Quagliarella for Juve.
Giovinco receives the pass from Pogba and initiates a break for the visitors. The ball is worked short to Lichtsteiner, who elects to shoot from an outrageous angle. Blocked.
The hosts have an urgency about their play now. Thereau picks up some space in between midfield and defence and runs at the Juve defence. His shot doesn’t have the required pace and Buffon claims.
The Flying Donkeys are putting more pressure higher up the field and it has paid dividends.
GOOOAL!! Incredible. The hosts are back in it. The Juve back three fail to attack a high ball into the box. The break of the ball falls to Thereau, who lashes it past Buffon from just inside the box.
Buffon comes to claim a lofted ball into the box – his composure is quite something to behold.
The hosts have again started brightly.
Sampirisi and Cesar have been hooked for Seymour and Acerbi.
Back underway. Double substitution to report.
That's it from the first half.
This has been an utterly professional performance from the visitors.
GOOAL!! Great second goal. If the first was a wonderful individual strike, this one is a team goal of some standing. The visitors break with Giovinco, who slips the ball to Matri, who turns his man before returning the ball to his strike partner inside the box. Giovinco back heels to Lichtsteiner, who lifts the ball over Puggioni into the top corner to double his side’s advantage.
Pirlo picks out a tremendous ball for Lichtsteiner. The ball is so good it dictates the Swiss’ run inside Jokic but the former Lazio man appears to take the ball down with his hand to evade his opposite number’s attempt at a clearance but it matters little as Puggioni saves.
Paloschi is again on the shoulder of the last defender. This time it is Marrone but the through-ball is over-hit.
Juve look comfortable but need to turn their superiority into further advantage.
Pogba is having a tremendous game out there and works back to steal the ball from Jokic and then win a free-kick.
Pirlo is over he free-kick, 30 yards out and just right of centre. Pirlo gets the ball up and over the wall but Puggioni had read it and easily claims.
Pirlo is becoming more and more influential and he finds Giovinco, who draws the foul from Cesar. The defender is in the book for the foul.
Juve retaining the ball well now.
Lichtsteiner is again offside. Before Chievo get in behind with Paloschi but Buffon is off his line to slide in at the feet of the forward to clear.
Giovinco draws a foul outside the box near the byline from Jokic. Juve load the box but Pirlo lifts it to Vidal on the edge, who has a well-struck volley turned around the post by Andreolli. Great reaction block as that was going in.
Vidal gives away a free-kick that is swung over to the far post and Buffon is off his line to punch clear.
Lichtsteiner is adjudged to be offside following an angled, lofted pass from Pogba – that was a tight decision but Puggioni was smartly off his line to block.
Rigoni finds Paloschi on the shoulder of the defender and the forward hooks an effort towards goal from an acute angle but can’t get the required power.
The Flying Donkeys, having started brightly, faded since the goal but Paloschi looks dangerous and he attempts to get in behind Marrone but the forward is crowded out by a gaggle of Juve defenders.
That was a big chance and Giovinco really should have scored there.
Giovinco is picking up little pockets of space in between midfield and defence. He receives the ball from Vidal, exchanges passes with Matri to get in behind Cesar, but, off balance, he drags the effort wide of the goal.
Pogba finds De Ceglie in the channel but a Chievo foot gets back at him. Chievo break and Paloschi has a sight of goal but De Ceglie gets back at him to block from inside the box.
Matri, despite that quality goal, has been a little bit loose linking the play thus far and again he lets the ball get away from him.
Juve come again with Pogba but his cross is too close to Puggioni.
Pirlo draws a free-kick from Rigoni and then releases Giovinco. The diminutive frontman shoots on sight from 25 yards out but it dribbles wide.
That was some goal and will do much to settle the Old Lady, who have had a tumultuous week.
GOOOAL!! Dispatched as stylishly as it was created. What a strike. Vidal lifts the ball over the full-back to Matri. The ball is dropping just on the edge of the six-yard box and Matri fires the volley back across Puggioni. A goal of utter beauty.
Lichtsteiner is back on but again in the wars as he goes down under another challenge but the referee waves away his appeals.
Cofie looks to have made a clean challenge on Caceres. The referee appears to have penalised the nature of the tackle – which began off the ground – rather than the actual result of the challenge. The Old Lady work it short to Vidal whose shot has power from about 30 yards but not the direction.
The Flying Donkeys have run very aggressively thus far and this time Pirlo is put under pressure before he tries to force the pass. The hosts break but Juve regroup.
Chievo have only lost two games at home in Serie A this season.
Lichtsteiner goes down under the challenge and he looks to have turned his ankle. He hobbles off for some treatment. The challenge from Jokic wasn’t malicious but the Swiss looks like he may have to come off.
Quite a sedate start here with both sides content with allowing each defence time and space to stroke the ball around at the back.
