FULL-TIME

Arsenal return to winning ways against a poor Bournemouth side. Danny Welbeck grabs a brace either side of Alexandre Lacazette's cool finish on a fairly satisfying afternoon for the Gunners.

It was all too comfortable for Arsene Wenger's side but the real test will come at Stamford Bridge next weekend.

90'+2

SAVE!

Sanchez goes close to getting on the score-sheet. After playing a one-two with Ozil, he unloads and forces Begovic into a decent stop.

90'

There will be three minutes of additional time to play.

88'

SAVE!

Cech is forced into action for the first time this afternoon as he tips King's header over the bar.

86'

Bellerin surges forward down the left-hand channel. as Arsenal search for their fourth goal of the afternoon. He has Sanchez in the middle for support, but can't pick him out as Begovic intervenes.

84'

Again Sanchez looks for Giroud, but Francis does just enough to deal with the danger. There are only five minutes left to play at the Emirates.

83'

Now with a numerical advantage, Bournemouth are seeing a lot more of the ball. Can they find a way past the Arsenal defence?

80'

Worrying scenes for Arsenal as Coquelin pulls up and leaves the field immediately. The hosts have already made three substitutions and will have to play the last 10 minutes a man short.

78'

CHANCE!

Sanchez plays a clever reverse pass to Giroud and the Frenchman, searching for his 100th goal for the club, sees his shot from a tight angle saved by Begovic.

77'

Arsenal are enjoying themselves now, passing the ball around really confidently.

Ozil sends a teasing cross into the penalty area, but Francis intercepts. Arsenal soon recover possession though.

75'

YELLOW CARD!

The first booking of the game is given to Francis.

74'

Now, what sort of contribution can Sanchez make?

73'

DOUBLE ARSENAL SUB

No hat-trick for Welbeck this afternoon as he makes way for Olivier Giroud. Meanwhile, Lacazette goes off to a standing ovation as he's replaced by Sanchez.

71'

Clever movement from Ozil as he latches onto a pass on the right. He waits for support, eventually teeing up Coquelin who sees his first-time effort deflected wide by Ake.

70'

BOURNEMOUTH SUB

Defoe went closest for the visitors when he struck the post earlier in the second-half, but he's replaced by Lys Mousset for the last 20 minutes.

69'

Bournemouth are awarded a free-kick, about 20 yards out. Ibe steps up to take it, curls the ball around the wall but wide of the near post.

68'

Bournemouth are now operating with an extra man in midfield. It means Arsenal are having to work harder to find holes in the middle of the park.

ARSENAL SUB

The hosts make their first change of the match - Ramsey making way for Francis Coquelin.

65'

Harry Arter throws his arms up in the air after he mis-places a pass in midfield. It's been one of those days for the visitors.

64'
62'

Arsenal launch a counter-attack after dealing with a Bournemouth corner as Bellerin plays a lovely through ball for Lacazette to run onto, but Begovic is off his line to mop up the danger.

60'

He's full of confidence this afternoon, is Welbeck. That would have been the perfect way to complete his treble.

59'

INCHES WIDE!

Welbeck, on a hat-trick, closes in on goal and tries an audacious chip! The ball skids just wide of the far post, however.

56'

Ramsey is left unmarked inside the penalty area and he's almost picked out by Ozil's clever dinked pass at the near post, but Begovic is off the line to gather the ball.

55'

Ozil smashes a first-time volley from a wide angle into the side netting. He is desperate to get onto the score-sheet and with a bit more composure, he may well have done!

54'

Ramsey plays an inviting through ball for Welbeck to run onto. Francis is there first, waits for Begovic to come and clear, almost putting his team in desperate trouble. He eventually clears however as his goalkeeper stays put.

52'

Arsenal have been quickest to every ball this afternoon. There is something about Howe's team which doesn't feel right and it could be a long, hard season for the Cherries.

48'

OFF THE POST!

Defoe, with what feels like his first, strikes the woodwork after drifting between two defenders to meet Ibe's cross. So close to his first goal since his return to Bournemouth.

47'

Quite surprising that Howe appears to have kept the same formation.

46'

Koscielny is down after a coming together with Josh King. Wenger will be hoping his centre-back can run this one off.

45'

Arsenal get us underway in the second-half.

Bournemouth have made a second change, Mings making way for Simon Francis.

-

Danny Welbeck, replacing Alexis Sanchez - who Arsene Wenger deemed not fit enough to start – opened the scoring after six minutes when he headed in from Sead Kolasinac’s cross.

And on 27 minutes, Alexandre Lacazette curled in his second goal in Arsenal colours from the edge of the penalty area.

It's a long way back for Bournemouth.

HALF-TIME

Bournemouth can't make anything of a corner, and that's that for the first-half. Arsenal in complete control.

45'

There will be three minutes added on at the end of the first half.

42'

This is arguably the worst Bournemouth performance since their promotion over three years ago.

40'

Beautiful football from Arsenal as they exploit the acres of space in their visitors' midfield. Bellerin is found on the right, he picks out Kolasinac whose first-time volley is deflected wide by Smith.

Half-hearted appeals for a handball and a penalty, but Anthony Taylor signals for a corner.

Meanwhile, the injured Fraser is forced off to be replaced by Jordon Ibe.

37'

CHANCE!

Oh my, Arsenal almost score a third, in comical style! Tyrone Mings plays the ball back to Begovic and the Bournemouth goalkeeper is quickly charged down by Welbeck! The loose ball falls kindly for Lacazette but Begovic is down quickly to save his first-time effort.

35'

Bournemouth are counting the minutes down to half-time when they will desperately try to draw up Plan B. At this rate they'll be fortunate to be trailing by only two goals at the break.

33'

More on Arsenal's second goal then. Ozil drilled a ball forward at least 30 yards and Ake gambled on the interception and completely missed the ball. Lacazette then took control, curling the ball into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

32'

Ramsey concedes possession deep inside his own half, but Bournemouth can't capitalise as King runs into a sea of red shirts.

30'

Bournemouth win their first corner of the game, which they play short. Fraser eventually sends the ball into the danger area, but Arsenal can clear rather comfortably.

28'

This could end up being a cricket score, if Bournemouth don't improve quickly. Arsenal have totally bossed the game and, for once, have been extremely clinical. Lacazette simply HAS to start every match when fit.

  • Alexandre Lacazette
GoalAlexandre LacazetteArsenalGOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth (Lacazette). A wonderful finish from Lacazette as the Frenchman capitalises on some poor defending and curls it into the top corner. It's desperately poor defending as he fails to clear Ozil's pass from deep.

GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth (Lacazette).

A wonderful finish from Lacazette as the Frenchman capitalises on some poor defending and curls it into the top corner. It's desperately poor defending as he fails to clear Ozil's pass from deep.

25'

A third corner for Arsenal comes to nothing, but caused a bit of panic in the Bournemouth penalty area.

24'

Concern for Dan Gosling as the Bournemouth midfielder is forced to leave the pitch for treatment.

Danny Welbeck of Arsenal celebrates scoring his sides first goal
22'

Kolasinac has been impressive going forward this afternoon. He makes a surging run down the channel, looks to link-up with Ozil but the Germany international mis-places the exchange pass.

20'

Bournemouth haven't been able to get their front three in the game and hence why they haven't even had a sniff of an opportunity. Defoe has only had one shot on target in his first three appearances for the Cherries. Something isn't right.

17'

Ozil is played through behind the Cherries defence, wide on the left. He waits for support, finds Lacazette who tees up Granit Xhaka, but the Swiss international curls his shot well over the bar.

15'

GREAT SAVE!

It is indeed Ozil with the shot. He curls the ball over the wall, it looks to be heading for the top corner, but Begovic is at full stretch to keep it out.

14'

Lovely stuff from Arsenal. Intricate passing from Lacazette, Ramsey and Welbeck but then the latter is fouled, right on the edge of the penalty area.

Ozil is over the ball and this is a real chance for the Gunners to double their advantage...

13'

It's just not happening for Bournemouth at the moment. They come forward on the counter-attack and try to exploit the space on the channels, but a pass intended for Charlie Daniels is over-cooked.

12'

The hosts win their second corner of the match with Kolasinac delivering it to the near post. No one in a red shirt is able to connect and Fraser is able to head clear. However, there's no way out for the Cherries at the moment as Arsenal come forward once more.

10'

Arsenal are passing the ball around nicely now and growing in confidence. Exactly what the doctor (or Mr Wenger) had ordered.

8'

Bournemouth are heading towards their fourth consecutive defeat for the first time since 1994 - back when they were in the third tier.

7'

The final touch may have come off Welbeck's chin, but Arsenal won't mind one little bit. They're ahead and suddenly the home fans find their voice.

  • Danny Welbeck

5'

Arsenal win their first corner of the game which Ozil whips to the back post. Nathan Ake rises highest and heads it clear.

4'

It's been a rather nervy opening at the Emirates, a strong indication that both sides are struggling for form.

3'

If Arsenal lose today, it will be there worst ever start to a campaign in the Premier League era.

2'

An interesting fact is that Jermain Defoe has failed to score in 10 visits to the home of the Gunners. He will look to break that hoodoo this afternoon.

KICK-OFF!

The visitors, wearing a light blue kit, get us underway.

14:58

We're moments from kick-off, stay with us for all of the excitement!

14:55

This may be only the fourth game of the new season, but rarely has a match felt so important at the Emirates. Win and Arsenal can try to get back on track, but a loss doesn't bare thinking about.

14:50

What are we thinking then? Can Arsenal put that humiliating defeat to Liverpool behind them and bounce back to winning ways? Or will Bournemouth pile more misery on the Gunners? Tweet your opinions to @Eurosport_UK

14:40

STAT ATTACK

Arsenal have won four of the five previous meetings, with the exception being January's 3-3 draw at the Vitality Stadium - when the Gunners recovered from 3-0 down.

14:35

Like Arsenal, the Cherries have also made a pretty terrible start to the season as they have lost their three opening games, but Howe is refusing to be negative.

"Our training has been very good and I just hope we continue our momentum from the Manchester City game," he said.

"You need to start the game well and stay in the game, it doesn't matter what run of form you're in- you can't give yourself too much to do.

"I don't think you can predict good times and bad times to play teams, our only focus is on our preparations."

-
14:30

Arsene Wenger stating the obvious:

"We need to improve a lot, our target is to win the Premier League and obviously we can't win it if we keep playing like we did against Liverpool."

Two defeats in their last two Premier Leagues has piled the pressure on the Frenchman and things could get pretty nasty at the Emirates if the Gunners go a goal behind this afternoon.

14:25

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe makes just the one change from the team that lost 2-1 to Manchester City last time out with Ryan Fraser replacing Andrew Surman in midfield.

14:20

Danny Welbeck has been tasked to fill the void left by Sanchez as he lines up alongside Mesut Ozil to support lone striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Elsewhere, there are changes in defence where Sead Kolasinac and Shkodran Mustafi start. Rob Holding has been left out of the squad altogether.

14:15

ALEXIS SANCHEZ BENCHED:

The want-away Arsenal forward has suffered a rather miserable couple of weeks - first, he never landed his move to Manchester City, then he suffered back-to-back defeats while on international duty with Chile, and now, to rub salt in the wounds, he is left on the bench for the Gunners.

Manchester City failed in attempts to sign Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez
14:12

And the visitors...

14:11

Here's here Arsenal are lining up, with one very notable player excluded from the starting line-up...

14:10

Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Bournemouth.

After suffering a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool last time out, can the Gunners get back to winning ways over winless Bournemouth?
