FULL-TIME: Manchester United return to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough. It wasn't pretty at times but it's job done for Jose Mourinho. Fellaini, Lingard and Valencia with the goals for the visitors. Gestede was on the score-sheet for Boro.

GOAL! Oh my, Victor Valdes. It's a horrendous mistake from the Middlesbrough goalkeeper as he slips at the crucial moment and Valencia, who chased the ball all the way, is left with a simple tap-in.
But it's headed clear and now United break forward through Valencia...
Jon Moss needs some help from his fourth official after Gestede and Bailly go head-to-head in an off the ball incident. In the end he gives both players a talking to. Meanwhile, Boro have a corner!
FOUR minutes of added on time to play at the end of this intriguing contest.
CHANCE! Gestede does well to flick a throw-in into the penalty area for Negredo who tries a spectacular half-volley but he doesn't get the connection he would have wanted.
CHANCE! Jones does brilliantly to make a crucial last-ditch tackle on Negredo who had barged his way through a stream of United players.
We're into the final five minutes now. Boro have lost a little momentum and some United possession has taken the sting out of the home side.
Traore concedes a free-kick and United havea chance to pump the ball into the penalty area but Jose Mourinho has ordered all of his defenders to stay back!
United can catch their breath for a moment as De Roon fouls Carrick deep inside the away side's area and they'll take their time with this free-kick.
The visitors are almost playing six men in defence as they desperately try to cling on for three points here.

Now then, can Boro find a second? They've been well on top for the last 10 minutes and Steve Agnew's side are asking all sorts of questions about United's resolve.

GOAL! Gestede gives Boro a lifeline! Smalling fails to clear his line from Traore's cross and the former Aston Villa striker gets off the mark for his new club with a simple tap-in. Game on!
It's wave after wave of Boro attack now as Downing sends in another cross but he can't find any of his team mates. United are happy to get men behind the ball and try to catch the hosts on the break.
Traore gets past three United challenges, sends in a cross to the back post where Downing knocks it down for Gestede but Rojo does well to make an interception.
Now Barragan delivers a cross to the near post but De Gea bravely collects the ball. Boro are on the front foot but is it too little too late?
Boro continue to enjoy a bright spell of attacking football as Downing sends in a cross with the outside of his foot but Jones does well to meet it and United survive.

CHANCE! Negredo makes a good run in front of Jones to meet Ramirez's cross and it's just inches wide of De Gea's goal!
SAVE! Much better from Boro as a cross is sent into the away penalty area from the right which picks out Negredo but the Spaniard can only head straight at his fellow countryman De Gea.
Steve Agnew is preparing a change in response to United's second goal.

GOAL! A perfect strike from Lingard doubles United's advantage! The visitors launch a counter-attack, the Boro defenders back off the youngster and he punishes them with a stunning strike from 25 yards which hits the top corner of the net.
Possession: Boro 60%-40% United.
Better from Boro as Negredo picks out Ramirez with a through ball but the Uruguay international hasn't anyone to pass to and the hosts end up losing possession.
Negredo throws his arms up in frustration as he makes a run behind the United defence but Leadbitter fails to spot him and instead the ball goes backwards. Any wonder Boro have only scored 19 goals this season.
Boro are beginning to run out of ideas. Is it time to unleash Adama Traore?
Oh dear, Marcus. Rashford picks up a good area on the right and with plenty of team mates to choose from, he disappoints as he sends his cross into row-Z.
Now United break with Lingard using his explosive pace to get away from the chasing pack, he slides through Rashford but the youngster can't make anything of the opportunity. The game is starting to open up a little as Boro throw men forward in search of an equaliser.
It's another poor delivery from Ramirez as his cross is sent straight into the arms of De Gea.
Fabio delivers a teasing cross into the penalty area but it's just too high for Negredo and United clear the ball for a Boro corner.
Barragan does well to win the ball back from Lingard and Boro break...
Joe Jordan is on the Boro bench this afternoon. The popular assistant manager was brought in to help Steve Agnew after Aitor Karanka departed the club on Thursday.
United open the Boro defence on the right but just as Valencia makes his way inside the penalty area he's blocked off by Gibson and the ball takes a final touch off the United player. Boro goal-kick.
Fabio is fortunate not to be shown a yellow card as he goes in high on Valencia but doesn't make a connection with the United man. He gets a talking to from the referee.
Fellaini wins the header and United clear. It has now been eight hours since Boro scored a goal in the Premier League!
A ball is played down the line for Ramirez but Carrick watches him all the way and makes a block. Boro have a corner now.
COMEDY GOLD! Smalling tries a backward diving header to his goalkeeper, completely misses and ends up chesting it back to De Gea. That could have been embarrassing for the United centre-back.

We're underway in the second-half. Boro had an amazing 61 per cent of possession in the first-half but United were by far the better side.

HALF-TIME: Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester United.
One minute of added time to play at the end of the first-half.
Rashford picks the ball up in a central area, he has plenty of options but tries a reverse pass for Young and Bernardo does well to make the interception.
Smalling is fouled just as the corner comes in and United now have a free-kick inside their own area.
Fabio, a former United player, does well to win a corner for Boro and Leadbitter will take the set-piece.
SAVE! Rashford is causing the hosts all kinds of problems but his finishing is letting him down. He once again gets away from Bernardo easily but his shot from a tight angle is parried by Valdes.
Boro have few options on the bench but Cristhian Stuani, who scored their last goal in open play in January, could be called upon in the second-half.
STAT: Boro have only recorded two points when they have gone behind in the Premier League this season.
Ramirez does well to deliver a cross into the penalty area, it takes a ricochet off Fellaini and Boro have another corner. Better from the hosts.
Lovely football from Boro who at last cause the visitors a problem at the back! De Roon is left unmarked in a wide area, he cuts the ball back for Negredo inside the box but it's slightly behind his team mate and United clear.
Smalling, under pressure from Bernardo, manages to get a head to the corner delivery but he can't find the target.
Young drops a shoulder, cuts onto his weaker foot and feeds Lingard who has a shot from the edge of the penalty area, it's deflected and United have a corner.
It was too easy for Fellaini. He was the only player in blue inside the Boro penalty area when the cross came in but he still managed to get away from his marker. Steve Agnew will be concerned with how poor his team have looked defensively.

GOAL! United are ahead, Fellaini spins away at the back post and heads in from Young's cross! Dreadful defending from Boro.
The visitors get in behind the back of the Boro defence yet again but they can't pick the right pass and Downing does well to tidy up for the hosts.
United come forward once more with Valencia breaking into the Boro penalty area but his cross is behind all of his team mates and the hosts can clear.
Downing whips in a cross with De Roon picking up a position at the back post but the former Liverpool winger puts too much on the delivery and it's out for a United goal-kick.

YELLOW CARD: Jones is the first player of the afternoon to be booked after a foul on Ramirez.
Three big, big saves from Valdes who must feel he has a point to prove to his former employers today. Could it be one of those days for United?
CHANCES! A fantastic double save from Valdes denies United!
First Mata picks out Rashford with a pass across the face of goal but Valdes does brilliantly to save with his feet.
The rebound falls to Valencia whose shot from a tight angle is palmed away to safety by the former United no 1.
Downing is caught sleeping as Rashford is released behind the Boro defence, he gets to the byline and tries to pick out a team mate but Clayton reads the danger and puts the ball out for a corner.
The cross is sent into the heart of the Boro penalty area where Fellaini rises highest but the former Everton man can't direct his header on goal.
Lingard and Rashford link up well but the latter is crowded out in the penalty area and forces a United corner.
Fabio makes a run from wing-back onto a Ramirez pass but he's beaten for pace by Smalling who passes back for De Gea.
Patient football from Boro but they haven't got any player in central midfield who is prepared to make a run behind the United defence and in the end the hosts are forced to play the ball backwards.
Barragan does well to head clear an Ashley Young cross but United have the ball once more courtesy of a throw-in.
Lingard attempts to play through Rashford who peels off the shoulder of Bernardo in the Boro defence but the ball is intercepted by Gibson.
SAVE! Ramirez cuts inside, jinks past Bailly and curls a shot destined for the top corner but De Gea does well to get a strong hand to the ball and palms it away for a corner.
A spell of nice and tidy football from Boro almost carves open United at the back but Fabio's pass for Ramirez is slightly overhit and the ball rolls out for a goal-kick.
Rashford hasn't scored since September 24 and a goal here would do the youngster the world of good.
OVER! A loose ball sits up nicely for Leadbitter to have a shot from all of 35 yards but it ends up in row-Z.
Boro have been extremely solid at the back for the majority of the season but their defence was exposed there and Rashford should have scored.
CHANCE! Rashford uses his tremendous pace to ghost past Bernardo but with just the goalkeeper to beat the young England international sends it straight at Victor Valdes.
It looked like United were playing three at the back on paper but on closer inspection it may just be four with Bailly starting at full-back and Valencia ahead of him.
The set-piece fails to come to anything for Boro but the hosts have made a bright start.
Ramirez gets away on the channel with Negredo to aim for at the back post but the winger's cross is poor. Moments later Downing sends a delivery into the area and Young does well to win the header but now Boro have a corner.
Blustery conditions at the Riverside where the home fans are making plenty of noise.
United go direct in the opening minute as a long ball is sent down the line for Rashford to chase but Gibson is alert and reads the danger, heading back to Valdes.

FIVE MINUTES UNTIL KICK-OFF: A reminder of today's starting line-ups...

TEN MINUTES UNTIL KICK-OFF: Middlesbrough have gone 12 matches without a win against United in all competitions, although they did knock the Red Devils out of the League Cup in a penalty shootout last season.
There's a lot of unhappy tweeters on social media this morning and the general opinion is that Mourinho is being too conservative against a team struggling at the bottom end of the table. Rob Dawson, of the Manchester Evening News, says the visitors "only have two dangerous attacking players in the team” - Mata and Rashford.
Some morning reading for Manchester United fans. How do you feel, would you like Mourinho to stay at the club long-term?
Manchester United are six points off the top four but have two games in hand over their great rivals Liverpool. They're unbeaten in eight league meetings against Boro and were last defeated 4-1 on Teesside in October 2005 (W5, D3).
Mourinho is likely playing mind games in his pre-match interview but it wouldn't be at all surprising if Boro get something here today. Steve Agnew simply has to be more attacking minded than his predecessor and there's a new sense of belief at the Riverside today.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on his side's fixture congestion: "I don't think it's a funny situation. When I watch marathons and people go to their limit, I don't think it is funny, and I don't think it's funny some of my players in six weeks play 11 matches.
"Play on Monday with 10 men, enjoying five hours the M6 coming back to Manchester. People can ask why was (Phil) Jones playing on the left with so many difficulties. He was playing on the left because he could run and Marcos (Rojo) couldn't run.
"We are living all these things and let's see if Sunday we get a point. That would be great result."
Middlesbrough's caretaker boss Steve Agnew: "I have to be honest, [Thursday] was a really difficult and emotional day.
"Aitor Karanka put in incredible work over the last three and a half years. I really enjoyed his work and his company during my two and a half years working with him.
"But today the players have trained well and we look forward to the weekend."
Meanwhile, caretaker boss Steve Agnew rings the changes for Boro. Alvaro Negredo, Stewart Downing and Gaston Ramirez are restored in attack with Adama Traore dropped to the bench while Antonio Barragan starts in defence.
Manchester United are set up in a 3-4-3 system to play Boro with Marcus Rashford spearheading the attack alongside Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial drop to the bench.
