Cardiff get Northampton in League Cup
Last season’s beaten finalists Cardiff City travel to Northampton Town in the League Cup first round, while 2010/11 winners Birmingham City take on Barnet at St Andrew’s.
Relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers have been handed a draw at home to fourth-tier Aldershot.
Wolves are the only team from last season’s Premier League in the draw for the round, which takes place the week commencing August 13.
Charlton Athletic, impressive League One champions, face local rivals Leyton Orient. Sheffield Wednesday travel to Oldham, while Sheffield United have a home draw against Burton Albion.
