Swansea, meanwhile, have never made the last four of this competition and have not made the semis of a major domestic cup since the 1964 FA Cup, where they were beaten by Preston.

We played four very different games over the Christmas and New Year period, and we didn’t lose one – that breeds confidence. The last two months have been very positive for us, we have only lost twice in that time and we have a great spirit within the squad."
Rafa Benitez: "We want to win every game, we know it's a semi-final and we will try to be in the final. We have a lot of respect for Swansea, they are a good team and they are doing well. It could be an interesting game for the fans. It's important to get to the final with my team, and my team now is Chelsea. I will try to do my best for my club, if we can win every trophy I will be very pleased."
Gerhard Tremmel starts in goal when Swansea travel to Chelsea. The German has played throughout the run to the last four, and manager Michael Laudrup feels Tremmel has earned the right to keep his place ahead of Michel Vorm as Swansea chase a first appearance at a major Wembley final. Angel Rangel is available after a calf problem, while Pablo Hernandez, Ashley Williams and Michu all return to the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has no fresh injury concerns. Petr Cech (groin) and John Terry (knee) remain out, although the latter could play for with the Blues' Under-21 squad on Thursday. John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses are also unavailable having left for African Cup of Nations duty with Nigeria. Fernando Torres is deployed up front with Mata and Hazard supporting him in an attack-minded home side. Frank Lampard does not start for Chelsea.
