The former Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan coach continues to attract criticism for his provocative behaviour in Spain, but does not care what his detractors have to say.
Having helped Real Madrid regain the La Liga title from Barcelona last season, Mourinho feels the end justifies the means.
"When you don't behave like everyone else, you create a negative feeling among others, but a positive feeling among your own group," Mourinho told Marca.
"When you're a leader you can't forget that. I don't care what other people think, only what my own people think."
