So United are in the semis, and what a performance they produced to get there! Anderlecht played really well, but United absolutely tore into them for the last hour of the tie, created a silly number of chances, and eventually saw them away with the work of a genius. Night-night!

Full-time: Manchester United 2-1 Anderlecht (agg 3-2)
Long ball to the far post, where Kara is up with Shaw .. it's a complete mismatch at the back post! But Shaw does enough and the header goes over the top!
United have been sitting too deep, but they break and Mkhitaryan sends Martial in .. he clips past Reuben and that's that! But the flag's up!
Suddenly Anderlecht are pressing, and Shaw has to block one away - he's had a quietly excellent game tonight. Tielemans then controls a long ball and Kara tries to turn it into the box - but Valencia is there to make a crucial intervention/
Anderlecht have a puncher's chance and they've started swinging! Kara heads into the box, Valencia heads away; Kara heads into the box, Bailly lets it go, and Acheampong is in! But he can't finish! Was that their moment?!
Long ball from Spajic, and a testing length, arriving just on the edge of Romero's box ... he makes a really positive decision to come and punch clear, doing so very well.
Ajax have scored at Schalke so now lead on away goals; Besiktas and Lyon are still locked at 3-3.
And it's Fellaini charging into the box to meet it, but Reuben claims ahead of him.
It's still all United - Fellaini has been excellent since coming on, and wins a corner on the by-line, fighting for the ball.
Do United stick or twist? They twist! Martial glides forward, then perseveres through two challenges and feeds Pogba, on the right of the box! He shoot punish it but instead coaxes it, allowing Reuben to save, yet again. His finishing is rudimentary, to say the least.
Imagine being Marcus Rashford.
WHAT A GOAL! AT LAST! Manchester United 2-1 Anderlecht (Rashford) agg 3-2 What a player this boy is going to be! What a player this boy already is! Shaw hits a diagonal at Fellaini, who knocks down ... but how much work is left to do! He controls beautifully on his laces, steadies, Cruyff turns his man, and rides a challenge to swipe a low left-footer past Reuben! Brilliantly done!
Schalke now lead Ajax 3-2.
We go again!
So, more of the same: United pressing and missing, Anderlecht blocking and saving.
Half-time in extra-time: Manchester United 1-1 Anderlecht (agg 2-2)
Whatever happens from here, this has been a proper United onslaught - and whatever almost happens, Tielemans, breaking through midfield and shooting straight at Romero, who fumbles after the ball bounces in front of him! But he recovers in the nick of time, and clears.
My days united have played well tonight. This time, it's Rashford breaking and he turns away from goal just outside the box to find Martial - it's a fraction out of his stride. United keep at it though, and when a subsequent cross is headed clear, Rashford's instep meets it on the volley, only for someone - Spajic I presume - to block clear.
Fantastic ball in from Martial to Fellaini at the far post, and he's up with the lark. This sends him over the top of Spajic, so it looks like a foul when he knows down for Pogba to finish. Perhaps it was a foul, too - it's hard to discern even on replay, so not surprising that it looked one to the ref.
This has been Burnley and Stoke, rather than Bournemouth and West Brom from United - it's quite remarkable that Anderlecht are still in this. What a testament that is to Spajic in particular, but also Kara and Obradovic.
Rashford diddles Kara, who pulls him down right on the junction between by-line and box; he's booked. And Rashford's free-kick is perrrfect, picking out Fellaini's brown only for Spajic to jump alongside and block. He has played astoundingly well tonight.
Bailly calmly finds Mkhitaryan, who weaves inside Tielemans and outside Dendoncker, looking to thread one through for Rashford. But in the absence of Spajic, Kara has read it perfectly, and he concedes a corner. It comes to nowt.
Celta Vigo are thorugh; elsewhere, Schalke and Ajax are playing extra-time, so too Besiktas and Lyon.
Anderlecht break with purpose - for the first time in a while - and Obradovic canes a cross-shot that clips off Teodorczyk; corner says the ref. And what a corner Anderlecht craft, Stanciu dropping back as everyone else moves towards goal; Tielemans finds him, but he can only blaze over.
Brilliant, yet again from Rashford, pulling right, caning Stanciu, and picking up Pogba with a rabona! I know! And yerma catches the overhead lovely, except Spajic blocks, yet again!
Rashford is now in the middle, with Fellaini supporting him. Martial is on the left, and Mkhitaryan nominally on the right.
Off we go again. 30 minutes for someone to score, else it's penalties.
Zlatan is off - he doesn't look in a good way. Martial replaces him.
Full-time: Manchester United 1-1 Anderlecht, agg 2-2. Extra-time it is!
Carrick lifts a delectable pass over the top and Zlatan leaps to control, collapsing after pulling it off; he's landed really awkwardly there, and as the final whistle goes, he's down receiving treatment.
Brilliant from Rashford, dragging his foot around the ball and megging Appiah to put Shaw in ... except Spajic gets there first! What a challenge that is! He takes a whack for his trouble, and Shaw stay down, but eventually hobbles off.
There shall be two additional minutes.
More lovely approach-play from United, class and perseverance from Mkhitaryan and Pogba taking the ball from right to left, where Zlatan scoops a fine pass to give Rashford another sight of goal. But, leaning away from goal, he can't get his body around the ball, rifling into the near side-netting.
If you're wondering what Anderlecht are up to, it's not that my commentary is partial, rather that for the last 20 minutes, it's been one-way traffic.
Zlatan and Pogba, both of whom have come into the game these last 15 minutes, combine to send Rashford through. His first touch is a jazzer as well, but the linesman's flag goes up just as he leathers the ball into the net.
But here's Carrick now, striding forward and slotting a perfect pass in for Zlatan! And a lovely first touch sets him for the shot, opening up his body for the punch into the far corner. But because the ball's bouncing a little, he strikes across it to send it wide! Another profoundly presentable chance, gone!
My guess is that with extra-time looking likely, Mourinho will at some point bring Herrera on for Carrick.
United have Rooney and Herrera warming up, but are playing well enough not to need any changes.
WHAT A CHANCE! Mkhitaryan's corner arrives perfectly on Pogba's foot, but, six yards out, the attentions of Obradovic are enough to have him spoon over!
United are throwing men and balls into the box now, Rashford curving in high but flat, looking for Fellaini ... Reuben comes, but Appiah isn't hanging about to see, flicking behind.
Brilliant from Rashford, throwing a stepover at Appiah before skipping outside him and smacking over a cross for Pogba ... but Spajic is up strongly to head clear.
Anderlecht are starting to sit deep now, hoping for a break. It's not a bad tactic against United, on the one hand, but on the other, they've done really well putting it on them.
Anderlecht are still dangerous going forward, but United have created three excellent chances since they last had a proper sniff.
United miss another one! Fellaini has made a big difference, and his flick-on finds Zlatan, left of the box. Six yards out, he could put his considerable foot through it, but instead opts to be dead deliberate, allowing Reuben to block. That was quite some oversight.
WHAT A CHANCE FOR UNITED! Valencia makes a mess of a clearance following an Anderlecht corner, but is lucky to find Mkhitaryan, who humps long. Appiah then dawdles, Rashford runs him down, nicks the ball, and he's in! But Reuben is out quickly, Rashford decides to round him, and a heavy touch forces him wide, by which time Appiah is back in verey well to see the danger away.
Besiktas and Lyon are now level on aggregate too - this is quite a night.
Rashford picks up possession outside the box, left-hand side, and cutting inside onto his right foot, opens up the angle for the shot! He drags his it wide, but the chances are starting to come for United.
Double change for Anderlecht: off go Chipciu and the excellent Hanni; on come Stanciu and Bruno.
Fellaini is first up for the corner, heading down firmly - but straight at Reuben. And anyway, he's then penalised for a foul, of course he is.
Valencia picks up possession outside the box and with nothing on, lifts into the box for Fellaini. His header is blocked clear, and the crowd hushes as it drops to Rashford on the edge of the box. He connects well, and someone's excellent block takes it behind.
A quiet period as both dies prepare for imminent stress.
Change for United: Fellaini replaces Lingard. I guess the point is that he'll protect the defence, shutting down Anderlecht, with Mourinho still backing his remaining attackers to get a goal.
Tielemans eases onto a loose ball in midfield and spreads to Chipciu; he cuts inside Shaw, who does very well to come back at him, blocking his shot to safety.
It looks like Fellaini is imminent. To what end is unclear.
Not long before both sides start bricking it - United especially, knowing another away goal will kill them.
Schalke have levelled their tie with Ajax at 2-2, after losing the first leg 2-0.
Back come Anderlecht! First Chipciu drives wide, then Romero has to punch away his cross. This is a really good game, with plenty of pace, invention and goalmouth action.
Blind finds Rashford, who immediately puts himself in a race with Appiah, who does just enough. But United maintain pressure, Mkhitaryan turning beautifully in centrefield before slipping a reverse-pass into the box seeking Zlatan; Kara reads well to clear.
Bit of possession for Anderlecht now - they look really confident and grooved.
Superb from Rashford, sliding a pass for Shaw powering into the box ahead of him! He beats Appiah on the outside and clips back a low one for Lingard, sliding in, but somehow, from three yards out, he imparts feather when tickle was needed, and oh my, how did that stay out!
United knock it about as Anderlecht sit inside their own half, before Carrick hits a long pass for Shaw, who knocks it around Appiah to win a corner. It comes to nothing and immediately Anderlecht break, Tielemans, who's been very good tonight, hitting Teodorczyk with a long pass. Valencia slips a little, giving him a sight of goal, albeit from 20 yards, before sliding back in to block. Romero then punches the corner clear at the near post.
Off we go again. No changes from either side.
It's worth noting that Zlatan has done nothing whatsoever.
This is very nice.
What an entertaining half that was. Anderlecht have Reuben to thank for keeping them in the tie, but have put it on United since then. By the look of things, it'll take two goals to win this, because it's hard not to see both scoring at least once in the second 45.
Half-time: Manchester United 1-1 Anderlecht (agg 2-2)
Here come Anderlecht again Tielemans clipping across goal, and when the ball itself clips Blind's heel, Hanni nips in, taking it around Romero but with a heavy touch that also takes it over the by-line.
There shall be two added minutes.
United have regained their composure, but will know that they're in trouble for a while yet - even if they score, concede another and they're behind; even if they score two, concede another and they're within one of going behind.
Brilliant move from United, flowing forward through Lingard before Pogba lifts into Mkhitaryan's path. Inside the box, he has to wait for the ball to come down, and flings a left boot at it when he might've gently fed Shaw. The effort duly flies over the top.
I wonder if Mourinho might change things at half-time - Carrick is finding it hard to stop Tielemans and Hanni getting at his back-four. I'd not be surprised to see Herrera, to that end.
Lovely from Pogba, taking a short pass from Rashford and lifting over the top for Shaw, who cuts inside and races into the box. But he can't get hold of the shot with his right foot, and Reuben saves easily.
Spajic pulls Zlatan down and United have a free-kick 25 yards out, which Mkhitaryan takes quickly, sliding down the side of the wall for Lingard. He misses the target, as is his wont, but is then flagged offside. Still, the ebb has turned to flow - for now.
This is now a pretty good game, and whatever happens, it looks like we're in for a tense night.
Mkhitaryan finds Rashford, who suddenly employs the nitros to absolutely paste Appiah before rifling an outswinging shot towards the near post which Reuben parries behind. The corner comes to nothing, but that was the first time United have looked dangerous in a while.
Chipciu gets around the outside of Shaw! Anderlecht are putting it on United here! And the low cross is a dangerous one, but Blind reads it well to hump clear.
Anderlecht need to keep at United here, because they're wondering what to do.
GOAL! Manchester United 1-1 Anderlecht (Hanni) agg 2-2 Anderlecht have been excellent since going behind, and have earned this. A switch of play from left to right finds Hanni, who crosses, and eventually the ball reaches Tielemans, who lets one go from 20 yards. It flicks off Valencia, slams the bar, and lands at the feed of Teodorczyk. Blind does brilliantly to rob him, facing his own net, but the ball nudges across to Hanni, who smashes home from five yards.
First flash of United in a bi: Ibrahimovic feeds Shaw, motoring down the left and around the back; his cross was just behind Lingard.
United have been involved in six 1-1 home draws this season, and given away three one-goal leads. And Hanni, who's doing well, runs at Bailly, inducing the foul; free-kick Anderlecht, 25 yards out - or Tielemans Territory as it's known in Flemmish. But, though he gets it up and over the wall, he can't find the power, plopping it into the hands of Romero.
Anderlecht probe around the box, and Acheampong, who's giving Valencia gyp here, gets his body in front of the ball and wins the free-kick. The ball then goes square, and eventually Appiah ceoms infield, feeding Dendoncker, who shoots low and hard ... and just wide. The ref gives a corner - incorrectly - which Zlatan heads clear.
Things are now pretty quiet.
Bad news for United; in pursuing Acheampong, Rojo took another bang on that right knee, and is stretchered off. He's been superb this season, so United will help it's just an impact thing. In the meantime, Blind, the deluxe O'Shea, replaces him.
Valencia inadvertently backheads and suddenly Acheampong is in! He's away from Bailly - my days he's gottabitta pace - and on the left of the box. Romero's out quickly, but even so, this is a great chance, but he goes for the near post, allowing the keeper to block.
Rojo takes more treatment than it looked like he needed for what was basically a bang, but eventually he's back up and the game recommences.
Rojo and Chipciu collide after the former takes a heavy touch, so is forced to clear with his right not his left, jarring his standing foot. Mourinho has been at pains to point out that United have only two fit centre-backs, which I'm certain will have delighted Daley Blind who played there most of last season.
A frantic period has cooled a little, United knocking it about and Anderlecht sitting off until they cross the halfway line.
Pogba finds Rashford, who moves onto Mkhitaryan, and suddenly United have an overload down the right if the crossfield pass is good enough. It's not, but it's another sign that United are finding some cohesion.
As they did so brilliantly on Sunday, Rashford and Lingard link, the former finding the latter who, from 25 yards, wallops a curler towards the far post that Martinez hurls himself at, tipping around the post to keep Anderlecht in the game. United are purring now, and Pogba, is in the mood.
United win a corner on the right and Pogba leaps for it, in line with the far post and eight yards out. His header is a goodun too, forcing a superb save out of Martinez., who tips it over the top.
Rashford screeches away from Tielemans, who drags him down and is booked. He'll miss any semi that Anderlecht reach.
GOAL! Manchester United 1-0 Anderlecht (Mkhitaryan) agg 2-1 Pogba picks up a loose ball outside his own box, eludes Tielemans, and drives a gorgeous pass out to Rashford at inside-right. He immediately crosses low for Zlatan, and when Kara intercepts excellently, slides square for Mkhitaryan, who smashes his laces through a low shot that, though close to the keeper, is unsaveable.
Pogba slides in on Hanni, extending a go-go Gadget leg. But he can't wrap it around the ball to make it has, so Hanni goes again, lifting over the top for Teodorczyk - he's not at all far from reaching it. This is excellent from the away side so far.
Chipciu strolls down the right and squares to Hanni, who immediately seeks Tielemans. But Carrick is wise to the ruse, intercepting and passing clear.
This game has started in similar fashion to last week's, scrappy with both sides competing hard. After about a quarter of an hour, United's class started to tell, but I can't see Anderlecht playing as insipidly again.
This Michael Carrick's 451st United game. Decent effort.
Acheampong, who was dangeorus last week, crosses low, looking for Teodorczyk, but Rojo is first to it. Anderlecht quickly regain possession, though, and what an effort this is, Dendoncker slamming his foot across one, which sails just over the far angle.
Immediately United pin Anderlecht back and Carrick tips a pass into Mkhitaryan, who turns it around the corner for Lingard. Inside the box, right-hand side, he might shoot but crosses instead, and one of the 53 defenders between him and Zlatan gets in the road.
United kick-off. It looks like Mkhitaryan is the furthers forward midfielder, with Lingard on the right and Rashford on the left. I don't really get that. I mean I do - those players can play there - it's just amending much of what was best about the Chelsea performance.
I suppose one might criticise Mourinho for making five changes, but they're all positive ones. For me, the difference against Chelsea, other than of intensity, was in two strikers. We'll see how that works out tonight.
They're playing the Europa League anthem. Who doesn't get goosebumps simply from its opening bars?
Out come the players!
BT Are showing us some Tielemans. He didn't play well last week, and even then, most of Anderlecht's play went through him. In fairness, he did grow into the game, and United will be wary of him. It's unlikely he'll be as quiet again.
Scholes says he loved playing with Carrick, who was reliable and always in the right place, filling in gaps, covering if others go forward.
Michael Carrick, talking about Sunday's game, says it's rare to see a game where everyone plays a big part. This was another.
The Mauves actually have a mauve light.
Paul Scholes reckons Rashford should now be United's first-choice centre-forward. It's good to have him on board.
That said, a diamond's inherent weakness is too many players ahead of the ball, and Jose Mourinho is not exactly keen on that. So, most likely, it'll be 4-2-3-1, but you never know.
I wonder if United will play a diamond tonight. Rashford is far too good in the middle to be wasted on the wing, and Zlatan is far too immobile and also too profligate to play up front on his own. Along with that, Paul Pogba is useful on the left of a diamond, while Lingard and Mkhitaryan can both play on the right or at the tip.
Most significantly, Teodorczyk, Anderlecht's top-scorer, starts. He did in the weekend game at Ostende too, but missed the first leg of this tie.
That's five changes from the weekend: Out go De Gea, Darmian, Herrera, Fellaini and Young; in come Romero, Shaw, Carrick, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic.
Some teams, then.
Evening all. Amazingly, tonight's game will be brought to you from an upbeat Old Trafford. United were superb in taking Chelsea apart on Sunday, their best performance since Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City were beaten consecutively in spring 2015 and probably their best performance since that bloke cried off old. Surely they can't mess up one of the most gaping open nets in the history of European football?
