Northern Ireland are counting down the seconds now. They are just moments away from one of the biggest results in their footballing history. This will be a famous day in Lyon.
Northern Ireland sub: Corry Evans OFF, Paddy McNair ON.
This is constant Ukrainian pressure now, but Northern Ireland still look rather comfortable. McGovern has been excellent at gathering crosses into the penalty area.
I'd imagine a few of those six minutes of stoppage time are down to the botched sub that Northern Ireland made. Although it seemed to be the fault of the officials rather than O'Neill.
Six minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half!
Not sure what that was all about, but play continues, Paddy McNair has returned to the bench without Northern Ireland making a change. Ukraine are pressing for an equaliser.
YELLOW CARD: Stuart Dallas (Northern Ireland)
Nobody seems sure as to what is happening. Northern Ireland want to make a change, but for whatever reason they're not being allowed to. Dallas was supposed to come off, but Evans' number was held up.
MCGOVERN MAKES THE SAVE! The cross comes in from the Ukrainian left wing, with Zinchenko rising highest to meet the ball on the leap. But McGovern gathers to deny him.
Northern Ireland sub: Conor Washington OFF, Josh Magennis ON.
Ukraine sub: Viktor Kovalenko OFF, Oleksandr Zinchenko ON.
Evans has been excellent at the heart of the Northern Irish defence. Of course, he is used to the big occasion after all those years at Man Utd and he is showing that this evening.
Looks like O'Neill is preparing to make another change. Josh Magennis is the one off the bench and getting stripped. The Kilmarnock man will come on as a targetman up front.
McGovern is grateful every time they ball ends up in his hands. Ukraine are throwing a lot of crosses into the area, but the Hamilton goalkeeper has been effective in dealing with them.
There is a growing sense in Lyon now that Northern Ireland are starting to hold on to what they have. Of course, what they have is rather a lot. This would be a huge result.
WIDE OF THE TARGET! Kovalenko takes control of the ball 25 yards out and elects to shoot when he has options either side. However, he drags his effort wide of the Northern Irish goal.
- OffSerhiy SydorchukUkraine
- OnDenys GarmashUkraine
Ukraine sub: Serhiy Sydorchuk OFF, Denys Garmash ON.
Indeed, Ukraine are starting to build something, but as has been the case all the way through this match, they are finding themselves at every opportunity when they make it into the final third.
The focus for Northern Ireland might now turn to how to close this game out. Will O'Neill decide to shut up shop? Or will he tell his team to continue to press for a second goal here?
- OffYevhen SelezniovUkraine
- OnRoman ZozulyaUkraine
Ukraine sub: Yevhen Selezniov OFF, Roman Zozulya ON.
CHANCE FOR UKRAINE! Kovaleno is set up for a shot on the edge of the penalty area, but he lashes his shot high and wide when he really should have tested McGovern in goals.
Here comes McInn! The midfielder gets involved for the first time in the match, driving down the right side, but he can't quite get the cross into Washington, who was in the middle.
- OffJamie WardNorthern Ireland
- OnNiall McGinnNorthern Ireland
O'Neill makes his first change of the match. Off comes Ward, who played a decent game, on comes Niall McGinn, the Aberdeen playmaker who will pose a threat to Ukraine.
Ukraine just aren't finding any traction in the final third. Every time they look like mounting something they lose their composure, or find themselves squeezed out by Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland's Gareth McAuley celebrates after scoring their first goal...
- Yellow cardSerhiy SydorchukUkraine
That was a nasty challenge! Sydrochuk is shown a yellow card for a late foul on Evans. The referee was given an easy decision to make there.
Make no mistake, this job isn't yet done for Northern Ireland. Ukraine will surely mount some sort of attack before the match is out. They have good players and will have chances.
Ukraine really need their star players - Yarmolenko and Konoplyanka - to step up if they are to find a way back into the match. They have offered nothing. Just 25 minutes left to play.
There's a real surge of excitement among the Northern Ireland supporters whenever Washington receives the ball. He's the one who is looking to drive at the defence every single time.
- Yellow cardJamie WardNorthern Ireland
Jamie Ward is shown a yellow card, but it's not quite clear what that's for. Perhaps it was for a foul earlier in the play?
That stoppage didn't really come at a very good time for Northern Ireland. They had built up a head of steam as they looked for the second goal. Now Ukraine have regrouped.
PLAY BACK UNDER WAY! The players are back out on the pitch and the game has started again. That was peculiar. It was a cloud burst of massive proportions. Huge hailstones!
MATCH SUSPENDED: Adverse weather conditions. Indeed, the referee has decided to take the players off the pitch for the moment. The hailstones were thundering down on the pitch.
The rain is absolutely thundering down now! This is incredible. In fact, it looks to be hailstones that are coming down in Lyon. The referee has to make a decision about this.
NORWOOD HAS A SHOT SAVED! The midfielder hit the effort from about 25 yards out, but after coming through a few bodies, skidding along the turf, Pyatov gathers it in the Ukrainian goal.
Now it's Northern Ireland's turn to have a go at the opposition goal. Ukraine are rocking all of a sudden. They're having to repel a number of crosses into their penalty area.
McGovern just about dealt with the Ukrainian freekick delivery into the penalty area. It was Konoplyanka with the cross, but the goalkeeper gathers it at the second attempt.
Ukraine are now pressing hard for a way back into this game. They have been second best and now find themselves behind. Northern Ireland are having to hold firm for the moment.
WHAT A CHANCE FOR UKRAINE! Selezniov lost his marker just moments after Northern Ireland took the lead and really should have scored. He could only head straight at McGovern.
- GoalGareth McAuleyNorthern Ireland
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Northern Ireland 1 (49 mins - Gareth McAuley) Ukraine 0. Can you believe it? Northern Ireland have the lead in Lyon! McAuley met a freekick at the back post and thundered home a header! 1-0 to O'Neill's men.
PAST THE POST! That wasn't to far away from an opener for Ukraine. Selezniov rose highest from a corner kick but sent his header just past the target. Northern Ireland survive.
McAuley had to deal with that at the back post. The freekick delivery from Konoplyanka was a good one and the Northern Irish defender heads behind for a corner kick. He had to put it behind.
The first half was a very impressive one from Northern Ireland. They moved the ball around nicely and looked much better than they did against Poland. But they couldn't find a goal.

HALF-TIME: Northern Ireland 0-0 Ukraine. That half of football was much better from Northern Ireland, but they still head into the break without a goal. Can they find one in the second half?
Too often the crossing from Northern Ireland has been too close to the goalkeeper Pyatov. They need to work on slotting the ball into the channels for Washington to run on to.
Northern Ireland's midfielder Stuart Dallas (L) vies with Ukraine's midfielder Olexandr Zinchenko
Ukraine seem to have weathered the storm (both figuratively and literally) and are now looking for a breakthrough themselves. But Northern Ireland have forced them back to the keeper.
YELLOW CARD: Yevhen Selezniov (Ukraine)
CHANCE GOES BEGGING! Ward hits a first time cross on the volley into the Ukraine box, but Washington didn't quite read it and the team in yellow can clear the danger. Something is bulding.
This is a great spell for Northern Ireland. Ukraine are having to dig deep to ward off their waves of pressure, which are now sustained and coming with regularity. Can they find the breakthrough?
There is the sense that Northern Ireland are building some momentum here. They have had a few shots from the edge of the box, but for the moment Ukraine are holding firm.
JUST OVER THE BAR! Norwood's deliveries from corners have been excellent and this time he puts one right on the head of Cathcart. But he can only head his effort over the target.
Ward is playing well down the right side, giving his side an outlet when they burst forward. His crossing into the penalty area has been impressive as well. Can they make the most of that?
Can either side ramp up some pressure in the time that remains before the interval? Northern Ireland have looked good on the counter attack, but can they build something more sustained?
Players are slipping all over the place out there. The pitch is slidey and it's still raining hard. If I were O'Neill I would be telling my players to test the keeper in these conditions.
WASHINGTON COULDN'T SORT OUT HIS FEET! Ward did well down the right side, crossing into his teammate. But he couldn't quite gather it and tumbles to the ground under pressure.
Ukraine have been rather wild with their shooting. Or rather, Konoplyanka has been rather wild with his shooting. He hasn't quite got his range yet, blasting over the bar twice.
This game has fallen into something of a lull in the last few minutes. It's as if both teams are feeling each other out. It might take a goal to really spark it into some sort of life.
The conditions in Lyon are really difficult now. It's raining quite hard, which is making the playing surface rather slippy. It's especially difficult for the goalkeepers out there.
However, it should be remembered that Ukraine have real star quality in the form of Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko. They have the pedigree to open up this game at any moment.
Davis is seeing plenty of the ball in this first half. He is the Northern Ireland captain and is the dynamo through which their play in midfield flows through. He's playing well right now.
Northern Ireland look very assured on the ball when they have it. Against Poland they looked somewhat anxious in possession, but not so far this evening. Much, much better.
That's why O'Neill has rung so many changes for this game. It's all designed to make sure his team carries some form of threat in the final third. Lafferty has been dropped as a result.
It's not that Northern Ireland were necessarily terrible in their opening game against Poland. It's just that they didn't really offer much in the way of attacking threat. They never looked like scoring.
SHOT FROM DISTANCE! Ukraine are passing the ball around better now, but when it comes to Sydorchuk he elects to shoot from range. There was plenty power, but not much direction.
O'Neill wants his side to get in behind the Ukrainian defence. He wants to give something for Washington to latch on to. This is a very different approach from Northern Ireland.
Whilst Northern Ireland are undoubtedly minnows by major tournament standards, it shouldn't be forgotten that they finished top of their qualification group. They do have quality!
Northern Ireland fans are in the mood in Lyon…
Davis had the chance to break forward on the rapid counter attack, but he was tackled as he surged towards goal and Ukraine can recover the situation. They look better now.
Ukraine are starting to settle into the game now. I think they were perhaps surprised at the way Northern Ireland started the match, but they are now taking more of the ball.
Washington is looking very lively early on for Northern Ireland. He's running the channels and providing his teammates with an outlet, which Lafferty didn't do against Poland.
That's a disappointing cross from Yarmolenko. The Ukrainian winger got to the byline and swung one into the box, but it was overhit and the delivery evades everyone in the middle.
Ukraine come forward for the first time in the match, with the ball coming into the Northern Irish box from the left wing. But Ward does well to shield the ball out of play.
This has been a much better start to the match by Northern Ireland. They are on the front foot and are pressing Ukraine. O'Neill wanted his energy and drive from his team. He's got it.
FIRST SHOT ON GOAL! Dallas takes the ball about 30 yards on the left wing and fires off the snapshot to try and catch the keeper off guard, but Pyatov gets down to make the save.
O'Neill has made five changes to his side. Some harsh words were said after the defeat to Poland on Sunday. He's been bold for his selection against Ukraine. Will it pay off for him?
The team in green and white have started the game the better of the two sides, and they have a corner kick. But Ukraine just about survive and clear after some head tennis.
Northern Ireland have to be better this evening. They were poor against Poland, even though they only lost 1-0. They were too passive in their first game. That must change here.
The match is under way in Lyon! It's Northern Ireland against Ukraine in Euro 2016.
Northern Ireland's support has been great at these championships, but there are a fair few empty seats in Lyon for this one. Ukraine haven't really held up their end of the bargain.
Of course, both these sides need a win to give them any real chance of making the last 16 after losing their opening games. Northern Ireland must be bolder and more forward-thinking here.
Michael O'Neill has rung the changes from Northern Ireland's opening match against Poland, but the most notable one is that Kyle Lafferty has been dropped. In comes Conor Washington.
