Cooper to pay for FA Cup exitSwindon manager Mark Cooper has pledged to help refund the supporters who watched their side lose 4-0 at Skrill Premier outfit Macclesfield.

Cooper described the humiliating FA Cup first-round defeat, in front of roughly 250 away supporters, as the worst moment of his managerial career and he believes the supporters deserved better.

"They deserve a refund and we'll see if we can do something with the players where they chip in for them for the Colchester game. I'll certainly be chipping in," he told the Swindon Advertiser.

"They deserve the players to give something back because they've travelled a long way and that wasn't good enough.

"They (the players) can't keep hiding behind me and other things, they've got to look at their own performance and decide whether that's good enough.

"People think they should be in the team, they're not in the team, are they playing in the right position? Just play and play as well as you can and run about and show that it means the world to you to play for Swindon."

Cooper's afternoon to forget was compounded by the sight of key attacker Ryan Mason limping off after twisting his ankle. The Robins' medical team will now assess the injury but Cooper fears he may be set for another spell on the sidelines.
