KICK OFF! Barca get this last eight clash underway.
CLASS ACT: Lionel Messi has scored 11 goals in this season’s Champions League, already his best tally since the 2011/12 campaign (14).
we're not far from kick off in Italy though, so let's take a closer look at the teams. Juventus make five changes to the side that defeated Chievo 2-0 on Saturday. Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Alves, Miralem Pjanić and Mario Mandžukić all return in a very attack-minded line-up for the hosts. Barca stick with 3-4-3 as Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic and Gerard Pique come back in following the 2-0 loss at Malaga. Sergio Busquets is suspended but the big news is that Jeremy Mathieu is called into the defence.
News emerging from Dortmund.
Gonzalo Higuain has scored only two goals in 22 Champions League knockout games. In the group stages, he’s netted 13 goals in 38 games.
DID YOU KNOW? Neymar has delivered eight assists in this season’s Champions League, more than any other player. He’s also completed the most dribbles (33).
ATTACK V DEFENCE? Barca have the mercurial MSN, but Juventus have conceded fewer goals in the Champions League this season than any of the other seven sides still left in the competition (two in eight games). Both of those goals came from set-piece.
Luis Enrique: "We have to play good football because Juventus’ numbers are stunning. They’re at the height of their story, and what it means to be in the quarter finals of the Champions League. We have to play a great match though, regardless of where we’re playing and it will certainly be difficult to overcome an opponent of this magnitude."
The pre-match buzz is warming up nicely.
Massimiliano Allegri: “It's a great challenge and we have to play with the confidence that we can beat Barcelona. It's always good not to concede a goal when you play the first leg at home but that is going to be difficult this time and it is likely they will score. Barcelona have those three in attack but they also leave space behind.”
YOUR verdict on who will reach the semi finals.
Elsewhere in the CL tonight, worrying reports emerging from Dortmund...
FAMILIAR FACE: Alves won a massive 23 titles over eight seasons at the Nou Camp, including three Champions League triumphs.
Juventus’ progress was less dramatic as they eased past Porto 3-0 on aggregate to make it to the quarter-finals for the third time in the last five Champions League seasons. In that period, no other Italian club has reached the Last eight of the competition.
STAT: Juventus have won their last four games in the Champions League, the current longest run in the competition. They are the only unbeaten team this season alongside Real Madrid. The Bianconeri haven’t conceded a goal for 351 minutes - this is also the current longest run in the competition. Sevilla’s Nico Pareja was the last player to find the Turin nets (back in November).
Barcelona’s belief that they can lift the trophy for a sixth time will be sky high following their sensational comeback success over Paris Saint Germain in the last 16. The Catalans trailed 4-0 from the first leg but somehow pulled off the improbable with a 6-1 victory at the Nou Camp (6-5 on aggregate).
