Kruge, Fabian Wegmann, and Luke Roberts completed the German ProTour team's squad for the Tour de France, with Linus Gerdemann, Gerald Ciolek, Christian Knees, Johannes Froehlinger, Niki Terpstra and Thomas Rohregger already previously named.
The reserve riders are Germany’s Fothen and Belgian Roy Sentjens.
"Roger is getting a huge chance for a young racer," said Milram general manager Gerry van Gerwen. "With his abilities, he will be a big help to us especially in the first week of the Tour, with its many flat stages.
"Since we are concentrating even more this year on stage wins, we had to decide against Markus. This decision was not easy. We also have to do without Roy Sentjens, who was injured at the Criterium du Dauphine.
"Unfortunately he was unable to recommend himself with a good performance at the Ster Elektrotoer. But after Fothen he is our second reserve rider."
