Biography

    • The team is sponsored by a coalition of companies from Kazakhstan and named after its capital. Although they are Swiss based and managed by former Tour de Suisse organiser Marc Biver. Late in 2006 the UCI awarded Astana a four-year ProTour license following the folding of the Liberty Seguros-Würth team, many of whose riders and staff are now with Astana.
