Canola takes seventh stage in Malaysia

Marco Canola of Italy clinched a dramatic victory on stage seven of the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia.

The 23-year-old broke with 12 other riders late on and crossed the line in a time of 4:25.17 with four rivals in touch in a tense finale.

Canola broke in a group of five for the final push, and pipped Joon Yong Seo, Serguy Klimov, Mathieu Claude and Floris Goesinnen to the finish.

Jose Serpa continues to lead in the general classification with 30 seconds on Jose Rujano in second after nearly 25 hours in the saddle.

The big mover in the overall standings was Joseph Cooper, who moved into 10th place ahead of Chris Butler and Thomas Peterson of the USA.
