Luke Mossey won both races at Brands Hatch Indy in a perfect day for the Kawasaki rider.

The 24-year-old won his maiden race after James Ellison's crash on lap 12 of the first outing and beat team-mate Leon Haslam into second.

He then repeated the trick in Race Two after Ellison could not start the race, with Christian Iddon coming second and Haslam third.

Shane Byrne, the defending champion, crashed out with five laps to go after finishing fourth earlier in the day.

It means Mossey has closed the gap on Haslam, who won twice at the first round in Donington, at the top of the standing to five points.

“I’ve been working my whole life for this moment,” Mossey told Eurosport after Race One. I'm over the moon to get this out the way.”
